By next year I mean 2020-21. We’ll have Adam, Trey, Malachi, and Lamont. Only Malachi can realistically play the 2 for long stretches. Flynn aside, there are question marks of varying sizes behind each of these players. Adam’s is the largest as he’s been no better than a fifth option since, what, middle school? He also didn’t pass the eye test in his first year at the D1 level. Pulliam didn’t make many waves in high school and his JC results weren’t exactly eye popping. Lamont was more accomplished in HS. He may challenge Pulliam at some point in his freshman year and his path would appear to be wide open as a sophomore. I think I may have written the same stuff back in the summer, now after three games, maybe something different... Adam can shoot and defend, he looks a little more comfortable, I would still see it as hard for him to get to a starters level... Trey is definitely a fit for our roster, style of play and is a talent at this level, he has some growing to do, but will get lots of minutes this year and could be the starter along Malachi next year. Malachi is a starter and will be All MWC 1st or 2nd team Lamont looks like the real deal and could be a starter as a freshmen or someone who gets Trey’s level of minutes this year, next year... Then there is Keith D...

He's also one of the more accurate 3-point shooters we have. (albeit a small sample size) I really like Trey as a 3rd guard. He can get into the lane somewhat easily and has a nice floater, he just needs to make that shot more often. He just has 3 TOs in over 50 minutes.

Night and day from this year to last, even in just the first couple games.

Lamont's Riverside Poly team is rated # 8 in the LA area - they added another guard DJ Davis from Centennial .
a major T for the area is December 26-30 at La Verne Damien - could have 80 teams
side note Altadena Renaissance has 6'8" Evans Kipkemoi from Kenya and 6'8" Koat Keat from Sudan - any chance we may have any connections

Article in the Monday 12/30 UT Lamont Butler future Aztec- A Perfect Fit- Doesn't care about Stats Just Winning
Says he has uncanny court vision and is uniquely unselfish almost to a fault .. In the victory over Foothills ,he had 12 points, 8 rebounds , and 8 assists . Per his HS coach he does not ask to have plays run through him or called for him .He plays defense and does not really care about his personal stats . Almost gets more joy out of a team mate scoring then him putting up points - He has led his team in scoring only 4 times , but has dominated games in almost every other category . Per Lamont- I want to Win - I 'm all about Winning . Do what ever it takes .
Aztec coaches have watched him play in the T at TP this week , also at the T in Las Vegas where he was named to the all tournament team with other high quality players , also was MVP of the T in Riverside for the third year .
Also remember him coming down to SDSU to help recruit Che Evans - who he stayed in contact with .

After watching him for a few years on the Steve Fisher court, I believe that most of us will be wearing smiles as big as Lamont's!

That’s why he needs to get on campus right after graduation. Needs to get active and show he is dedicated, works to get better and belongs with his teammates because nothing is going to be given to him. I think he will be given an opportunity to take the Point when the seasons starts as long as he limits his mistakes and plays defense at a high level. The Butler is coming! Can’t wait for the line “The Butler did it”.

His team lost to St Augustine Monday in the 5th place game . Lamont had 13 points to lead his team .
J Serra has a 7 ft center Francesco Borra - originally from Italy - they beat Sheldon in the National finals . not sure if Sheldon had all their players for the game .
Would guess that Lamont does go to Summer School here at SDSU so he can work with team mates and the coaches

So we're talking about a smart guy who can shoot and possesses court vision(assists). I think he'll be a can't miss player for us and will also help our team's GPA. A great get.
