thought there was an article that said Lamont came to campus when Che was visiting and they spent time together . then Lamont stayed in contact with Che and told him it would be great if they could play together at SDSU
Sometimes the players can be a vital part of the recruiting . This time it was coaches , players and our TRAINER - who also formed an important connection - knowing Che's injury and what he would be able to do to assist him .
Also JAM center
All adds up in the recruiting battles . You do not win games without quality players .

I have a feeling that Butler will be the fan favorite in 2021. This Individual is a we (team) player. You see it with the way he carries himself.

They have pretty nice facilities all around and they are a G5 team (with a G5 budget). Just think what the Aztecs could do with a P5 (Big Boy$$$) budget. I know, stop dreaming and wait for SDSU West. Hurry up! Hurry up! Go Aztecs!

I'm pretty sure stan means committed players sometimes help recruit other players - usually other kids they know from the AAU circuit. It doesn't always happen, and since Che is from the east coast I suspect no current Aztec player or commit knows him.

Butler played for West Coast Elite (Under Armor) Evans Team Melo (Nike) so I doubt they played against each other in AAU Tourney's. The big shoe events typically don't mix Nike, Under Armor and Adidas teams together.

many recruits talk with either other recruits or current players to get a player perspective on the school they are looking at- rather then the typical sales pitch from coaches. Che or some one is his group mentioned that he talked with Lamont when he visited and thought there were also pictures of them doing things together . Also noted that the 2 recruits stayed in contact after Che visited and Lamont thought it would be great to play together
Che also mentioned that he had talked with some BSU players about their development - so maybe received even more information on Coach Acker and his way of developing players important feature Che was looking for

great clips - do like his vision on the court - able to spot and deliver passes to team mates in addition to hitting shots
how tall is he - seems just a little taller then Coach Dutcher

I know there were a lot of local fans that were disappointed when Boogie decided to go else where (twice). Personally I was okay with it, since I would rather have the guards we have today and that Butler comes in next year. I wanted the Butler all along. I believe he will get significant playing time his freshman year and that he will not be influenced by the whispers. I only wish we could of gotten Noah who will be signing with Stanford.

Lamont Butler signed his National Letter of Commitment tonight to San Diego State. Great news. Welcome to the Mesa. The Butler coming!!!!!! Think of the fun promotions the marketing department can do.
