I think you are right, but my guess is it is around 37,000 fixed seats, then 3,500 SRO and Luxury Box. I'm still puzzled by the concept of SRO areas. Please explain. Are SRO fans supposed to stand along a railing at the top of the fixed seat grandstand? Sit on bare ground behind the end zone? Or what? Doesn't sound very appealing to me. And would SRO fans be charged less because they are not able to sit down or have to sit on a hill side? But most important, who wants to have to stand up for three and a half or four hours to watch a game in person when they could watch it (or some other game) in the comfort of their own living rooms? AzWm Plenty of people. It's a "trendy" stadium feature for a reason... it's selling and is popular. I'd expect mostly 20-30 y/o's hanging out with their friends.

AzWm I know people who do it in Club Level type areas. It's more of a party to them, and there are TVs with other games on.

So now they're fighting for one of two spots left? Phoenix and Detroit are way ahead of us.

So now they're fighting for one of two spots left? Phoenix and Detroit are way ahead of us. Sacramento certainly has the other one. So, by my count, they are fighting for one or two spots (one if they keep it geographical, two if not). Stick a fork in them.

I'm sure they would love to be in SD, despite the other teams in the vicinity. Only one other pro sports team to compete with locally. I just don't see it happening. At least not with FSI.

Initial report was redacted, NOT confirmed yet. Eh, smoke precedes fire. I am willing to bet, this just wasn't what MLS had in mind regarding an announcement. Sacramento and Nashville it is, for the first two spots. The second two will be interesting.

The second two will be interesting. Come on down Phoenix and Detroit. Agreed. I think Phoenix is almost guaranteed for the 3rd spot (only additional spot out west?). However, Cincinnati, Detroit, Tampa, Raleigh will be battling for the 4th spot. I just hope that the MLS makes this decision in the Spring of 2018, and doesn't belabor the decision. The voting public has, and always will be stupid. While I think SDSU West will destroy Soccer City in the polls, I have been surprised before.

Yup. Imagine being the MLS. You have about seven options to choose from. Those seven options all have Stadium solutions, or will have one in the short term. Meanwhile, you have San Diego begging you to "Wait." Meanwhile, if you do wait, there is no guarantee they will be viable. Pretty absurd when you think about it.

Nick stone told us two teams would be named by the end of the year but the other two would also be decided at that time too...just not announced. LOL.

AzWm To this day - at age 44 - I have not once sat during a CU home game. Not once. I am the worlds oldest perpetual graduate student. Our student section spans the 50 yard line to the horseshoe endzone. Everyone stands all game.
