It's either Watson is coming off the bench or we start small next year. Of course how MGC plays this year will play a part in that decision. Hemsley/Kell aren't going to the bench. He wouldn't play next year. When he can play the 3 can share the 1 and 2 with each getting starter minutes. I see it as: 1: Watson, Hemsley 2: Kell, Hemsley 3: Teki, ... Shrigley, Pope, Allen, and Williams will be gone. No guarantee Pope is gone next year unless he plays like he did the last 6-7 games (not including the horrible NIT semi final) for the entire year.

What? Are you suggesting Hemsley would come off the bench? That isn't happening. History is replete with stuff happening that others said would never. Hemsley would still get 25-30 minutes. Unless something goes horribly wrong next year I guarantee Hemsley won't be coming off the bench as a junior.

I was going to tell you that he was coming off the bench behind two of the best bigs in the Pac12, on a balanced team where just about half AZ's pts come from the FC (38.8/80), and that while only 14.1 of their 38.1 ppg (from the FC) came from the bench, Tollefsen accounted for half of them. And then I remembered that feeding a troll facts is still feeding a troll. The one thing trolls don't like being fed are facts.

From reading the comments in the Union Tribune and on here it is unbelievable how off track and off base some of the fans have become.Hemsley or Kell will not lose any playing time due to Watson.Kell will be playing the small forward position at certiain points of the game which will make the team very dangerous from three point land and team speed will increase. It is necessary to have three good guards at almost any level.

he wouldn't come here to be a backup to anyone So you think Hemsley will back him up? That's crazy. I'm sure him, Hemsley and Kell will play at the same time occasionally but I wouldn't expect that to be the norm. I didn't say he was backing up Hemsley.

There is an interesting dynamic Watson's signing would help with...winning the NCAAs requires solid guard play and this helps us a lot. For next season's recruits there are 2 top tier centers from SD coming available. This certainly helps the sales pitch.

He also tweeted the announcement will be on KUSI so this tells me SDSU. Why would our local news show up if he is announcing anything else? Sweet!

3 Starting guards sounds like a nice problem. Exactly! 4 with Teki, for 3 spots. That's 30 minutes per player, however it shakes out. Wouldn't surprise me to see Hemsley come off the bench, nor would it surprise me to see Watson off the bench. Who starts is immaterial. Whatever the best combination of 3 from among those 4 at any time against whichever matchup is all that matters. Adding a 4th great player is never an issue, and a GREAT problem. Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, etc have survived having studs come off the bench, my guess is we can as well. My guess is Hemsley, Watson, etc would be OK with it if we're winning. i just hope we're not jumping the gun!
