Public pressure was always going to swing this. I'm glad for the kid that Kent finally extricated his head from a dark place.
Now... yes, hopefully he winds up at SDSU.

Woot!
Would suck but also just a little bit funny if he ended up at Fresno after all of this.

Glad for the kid. Ziegler and others truly made a difference.

I would guess that Kent speculated that his goofy stance would hurt his future recruiting efforts. He stated the pressure from a "rights" program but my guess it was merely a way to gracefully escape from a stupid move.

It's great that Izundu got his full unrestricted release but now we have to hope that we can get him to commit. It's going to be real painful if he goes to another MW school. He'll give us a solid option at the center spot with what should be his best year yet.

I can't see a guy with only one year of eligibility going to UNLV. I mean, I can't see anyone going to UNLV, but at least I can understand why a 4-year player might want to part of a team that is rebuilding. But after 3 years on mediocre teams, you'd think he'd want at least one shot at the NCAA Tournament before he graduates. And UNLV won't give him that shot.
Anyways, hope to see him in red & black, but will wish him luck wherever he goes.

I don't see UNLV getting Izundu but I do think other grad transfers will seriously look at them as they have a lot of playing time available

I just wish that we would go after his teammate Que Johnson as well. He's a career 37% shooter from 3 and a 77% FT shooter. He could be the 3rd guard behind Kell & Hemsley and easily fill in if one of them went down for an extended period of time or gets in foul trouble. It would give us depth and another veteran plus a guy to have on the court in the final minutes of a close game. It's only for one year so it doesn't hurt us but gives us that depth and talent to make a run in the NCAA Tournament.
The other side of the argument is that we don't have any open scholarships if a really good mid year transfer wants to come in. But I think we should go all in for next year.

I'm not interested in Que, we have lots of wing depth. We still have Kell, MGC, Dakarai, Shrigley, as well as Zylan can play some 3 and Hoetzel can play a bit of 3 (though I think he's a better option at 4) forgot Pope also if he comes back. I'd be interested in getting a sitout transfer wing that's very talented but not a grad guy.

He would most likely be the 6th guard behind Hemley, Kell, Allen, Shriggs and Teki...all whom would log minutes before Johnson...but maybe just before D'Erryl and Perez.

I'd be interested in getting a sitout transfer wing that's very talented but not a grad guy. But I'm talking about SG and emergency backup PG. If we lose Hemlsey or Kell for an extended period of time we are in big trouble. I think Que could give us another version of what Kell brings to the table. Plus he can create his own shot which last years team struggled with. I just saw how thin we were in the back court when Hemsley wasn't at 100% and everyone mentioned doesn't really fit the same mold of those two guys. If one of them has to miss a game or two and the other is in foul trouble a back court of Dakarai and/or Shrigley and/or Williams isn't ideal. Doesn't matter anyway because we aren't going after him and we still need to land Izundu. If we don't land Izundu we have a bigger hole to fill anyways.

I wonder if he was even going to visit any other schools if they just let him come here from the beginning. Sounds like we're by far the leader

Who knows. He might just commit during his visit and skip the other two.
