Doesn't say where Hutson was, but my guess is he was keeping busy somewhere....
Also believe we're definitely on McCoy's radar, contrary to what's said here.

Not sure why we wouldn't have a full court press on McCoy.

Not sure why we wouldn't have a full court press on McCoy. I was reading somewhere he's still waiting for an offer from Duke and Kentucky. Clearly wants to go to a blue blood school.

Coaches are out there on the recruiting trail . Will be very interesting to see who the coaches can line up for visits for late summer into fall .

Not sure why we wouldn't have a full court press on McCoy. What makes you think we haven't?
There was an article or a story somewhere about how great their relationship is with McCoy, and that at an event where they weren't allowed to talk to him he'd still try & joke with them - they just couldn't respond. I think they're very tight with him.
The question is whether he wants to get away from home & play for a BB or stay home & lift the hometown program? I doubt it has anything to do with whether we're pursuing him or not.

The difference is this is specific to the Aztecs and to the coaches being present, and it's not every single offer they've ever received from schools which have nothing to do with SDSU. Hence, a cleaner, great write-up on recruiting.

As mentioned our coaches can do everything legal / and believe they have, in trying to recruit McCoy but if he wants to go to look at or attend other schools there is only so much our coaches can do . Coaches want high quality players that want to be here . The "build a wall " routine is not reality in todays world .

The story about coaches and recruits in the no-contact period is similar to a funny exchange I witnessed just this past weekend at a college-viewing tournament in L.A. my daughter's team played in. One of my daughter's teammates is a nationally recruited junior who has narrowed her choices down to three schools. One of the head coaches of these 3 schools was there watching the games along with numerous other college coaches, and he eventually worked his way over to the girl's mom. The coach and the mom have a great rapport, so it wasn't unwelcome or anything. But the hilarious part was because they are not supposed to be speaking to each other (other than "Hello, how are you", etc.) they had a full on (but short) conversation with their backs to each other, neither one even partially turning around to look. After it was over, the mom burst out laughing at the hilarity of it all. This was a head coach for one of the blue-blood women's teams so I'm not going to reveal any names. But it was an interesting peak into the absurdity of some of the NCAA rules and the measures taken to delve into the gray areas of said rules.

I would still consider that a violation, because they did have contact. I but it was connecticut, don't trust that coach at all.

Geno can get pretty much get whomever he wants and he mostly swoops in at the last minute on his targets. Kinda like me in my heyday at the sorority parties. (OK, I lied.) But it was a coach that I've met and have plenty of respect for, so I won't be saying a thing other than what I've said here. Either way, I think it would hardly count as a violation and was nearby numerous other coaches. I think the coach did it more to humor his/herself and the mom than anything else. I'll likely see that coach again this weekend at another tournament. Coach Terry or one of her assistants will likely be there too.

Gundo, you have such great information but maybe you aren't getting what AZTEC fans are trying to say; tell us more about who may be interested in SDSU and less about the rest of the country. You do such a great overall job of keeping us informed that I hope you will continue; try to glean all the tidbits possible concerning guys who might want be Aztecs. Thank you for all your effort.

Missiontrails can correct me, but believe this happened during an evaluation period, and technically, per rules:
However, a college coach may not have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents off the college’s campus during an evaluation period.
Hence, back to back contact. Funny.
