I try not post much on this website because of sh*t fans like orginalshow00. However, I cant take the negative talk towards Spencer anymore. He has been great. His defense is way more than blocking shots. Watch him on the pick and roll, watch his defensive rotation, watch him guarding two players at once sometimes. He has been amazing. He has been good offensively in conference. He knows his limitations so he doesnt force a lot of shots. He is great rolling to the basket and catching the ball. Really soft hands. He can finish with either hand. Be grateful for Skylar, as you will notice a BIG difference next year.

BTW, Dave V was on the road most of this week recruiting & Hut was gone nearly all week, including recruiting at a JC in Texas.
I think we'll end up landing some "big", but still don't think it's THIS guy.

As pointed out Skylar has been stellar on D . If we played some zone D , he would have even better stats , hanging in the paint. Numerous times other players guys get beat and Skylar has to defend them . Skylar 61 FG% . 52FT% 6.1 rebounds a game second only to Winston at 6.4 .. Also take a look he only has 75 shots attempted , Ben Perez has 76 attempts. So maybe if there was a little more emphasis on the inside game, guys moving , getting open and guards actually passing the ball more instead of guys popping out for threes (29%) he would have better numbers . Skylar also seems to be the guy that sets the screen for the guards . Matt already has close to 25 shots in 7 games . D is good O is bad.

We may add another big. I think it is just as likely that we don't add anybody else to next year's team. Regardless,we are going to miss Skylar's rim protection as it is almost impossible to find a big that can mimic Spencer's skill set. We are likely to have a very different offensive team next year. My hope is that we have a strong combination of length, athleticism, and hands next year. Though we lose rim protection we could still be a better team on the boards than we are this year.

Winston , Skylar and Angelo have provided about 40 % of our rebounding this year together about 16 a game from the three . Zylan ( 6 ) and Malik who is now up to 4 rebounds a game , will provide good start but we will need Nolan or the other guy playing the 5 position to grab at least 6 to 10 per game , so will need another guy to help rebounding at the 5 position.

Angelo hasn't been a great player but he has certainly been a valuable contributor.

Really? Sent from my Nexus 6P using proboards His defense is the teams weaklink defensively, and he does not box out. And can not catch the ball and has one move to the basket and neither Chol or Spenscer are going to be drafted to the NBA so they never developed into pro prospecs which is the intent after four years of playing.

So moving on can anyone tell us who we are recruiting to fix this problem?

Spencer's hands this year have gotten a lot better, and he's been extremely efficient. He's really good, even a novice should be able to see that.

I am more concerned about replacing Shepard. His passing during the conference season has been great.

I am more concerned about replacing Shepard. His passing during the conference season has been great. I'm hoping Pope & Z (higher hopes for Pope based on recent play) can help fill that loss.

I am more concerned about replacing Shepard. His passing during the conference season has been great. He's a great player for us and will definitely be missed but we have a lot of long, athletic type players like him so I think he'll be more replaceable for our team than someone like Spencer. Specifically Pope has a pretty similar skill set to Shep and also can be a good passer. Plus MGC has some size to him (6'5/6'6?) and is apparently awesome in practice from all I've heard
