Once again, this program is losing money at the turnstiles.... If you can't entertain the fans, the fans will continue Not to come Where's Tom craft to Open up the offense? RE: your question, 4 letters BARF (A JOKE) Now, for your point. THe Padres had a great off season, and entertained the heck out of their fans with the big boppers, and the new stuff at Petco. However, the marketing department had more authority than the baseball side, and they lost more than they did the previous year. They did bring in many more fans, but winning is more important. I do not have much confidence in parts of our coaching staff, but to change everything to entertain fans, is not going to get us out of this mess. We have to win games, and we won.

We had zero rushing game-related turnovers So what? We were a terrible team offensively last night outside of that first drive and the two long TD passes. All our yardage was gained on our side of the field into their 40 or so. If we play like that against San Jose State we're gonna get killed. I believe that a reason for what our O looks like will be solved after next week when the real center returns to the team. (I hope) Our O line is pitiful.

So you speak for "new fans?" Winning cures. Fans can get behind grinding wins. We need a better facility. Certainly we need a better play caller and it is clear Smith seems affected by his past injury and the mediocre pass protection. Our OL has been a major part of the problem but they're getting better. Our D is solid and was exciting to watch last night. Then why did most of the people at the game for Family Night leave at halftime? They were bored. The average football fan HATES grinding wins where nothing much happens offensively. Fans who really know the game can appreciate them, but most fans don't know the game well enough to find that kind of game even remotely entertaining. How about EXCITING WINS being the priority and the goal? THAT is what this program needs, not boring, grind-em-out wins against bad teams. I've got news for you, the fight board is loaded with Fire Rocky posts and criticism of how the team is playing (not not the constructive kind, either). People are pissed that the program has regressed so much. Dude, we've had five years of wins. Most of them have been more entertaining than this one, and attendance is still in the toilet. If not for Family Night last night we would have seen another crowd around 20k or 22k. We need more than wins now. A lot more. The bar was raised, but we can't clear that height anymore. You're lowering the bar in order to, what? Say that we're still on the right track? We're not. We're going backwards and we have been ever since the second half of the 2012 Poinsettia Bowl. You know that. From my seats it looked like most of the crowd stuck around till after the 3rd TD. That's when it was clear the game was over.

We don't have the personnel to run anything that isn't predictable I think we do have the personnel. We don't have a HC and OC willing or capable of running anything different (succesfully). There is some talent on the offensive side of the ball. It's not the players. Great talent in some positions, but so far, our O line stinks. As a result, we gain yards where they are available. BTW, Penny will be used more and more.

But the point still remains, scoring 21 on Fresno isn't worth writing home about. Fine then, don't write home.

The gap in terms of ranking and recruiting between wins with style points and wins without style points (tough, hard fought games against weak opponents) is huge. Blow out a bad team and you prove that you belong among the top programs in the country. Struggle to beat a bad team and all you've proven is that you're slightly less bad than they are. Losses hurt you with recruiting unless you look really good in almost knocking off a ranked opponent. With the rankings a loss is almost always going to lose you a significant number of votes. To the statement in bold...do you really believe that? I guarantee you that if we blow out a team like unLv this board will be filled with, "Well we SHOULD beat that team so the win is meaningless" or "We only won by 30, should have been at least 45". I'll add that a Rocky led UNM beat us 70-7. They pounded a bad team (us) and what did they get from it? Bupkis.

Simply boring football and not worth my money Note to Gijiseue: Try the movies if you want to be entertained. You don't seem to know much at all about college football. Winning is what is important, not throwing just to throw. Running works now, so it will continue. If you haven't noticed (you apparently have not) we are not a good passing team. The receivers are not very good and the QB should NOT throw INTs just to make you happy. Try another entertainment.
