More concerning for Aztecs fans is who was in charge of recruiting this kid? We have missed badly regarding talents evaluation recently and some of these bad recruits are currently on the team right now.

would you take him back if he transferred ? maybe not .... if he has no foresight .... he may not on the court as well Better off without him, Teki Gill is a top 50 HS player.

For a kid who wanted more minutes; after 16 games at UTEP he has played 81 minutes in 7 games and averages about 2 points and Rebs per game. And it's gotta be cold in El Paso this time of year Well, you know what Garth Brooks says about unanswered prayers. I think we came out ahead by his bailing on us.

Just what we needed; another skinny 6'7" wing who can't score. Happy he is in El Paso

This shows a fundamental lack of knowledge for the game of basketball and how players develop. Outside of maybe 10-20 incoming freshman, the rest will need development and coaching to meet potential. Zylan Cheatham wouldn't be the same player at UTEP as he is here and the same goes for Broderick Jones. Of course athleticism, skill set, and personal desire all play a factor but to say Broderick would be the same player here that he is there is so naive.

Jones was a raw player when we decided to offer him, he was never in our plans to be a big time Freshman, in fact I believe we might have wanted to redshirt him. Problem was as season wore on, he didn't develop like the staff wanted (not saying they didn't want to keep him). The offer was always about him being a factor as a junior/senior year guy.

Never mind the fact he was averaging 15 minutes a game and was playing pretty well before getting injured and missing 8-9 games. He's still playing hurt. this kid could easily develop into a pretty good player.
