This is buried in the other thread but pretty big news.
Scott Sommer @scottsommer_ · 51m51 minutes ago 2015 6'9 PF Brodricks Jones has received his release from San Diego State. He'll not be able to attend any MWC program. Immediately eligible
Scott Sommer @scottsommer_ · 51m51 minutes ago Brodricks Jones, now the most sought out available prospect, will play AAU the month of July with Pangos Select (@trigonis30's events).

Maybe Narain is coming in this year and they both play PF?

Maybe Narain is coming in this year and they both play PF? This is the only reason I could see the coaching staff pulling the scholarship. But until we hear something along those lines I'm thinking that Jones felt he could boost his stock this summer and land somewhere he felt was a bigger program. Who knows maybe Bill Self reached out to him.

I could understand (although still hate it) if he were a higher ranked recruit thinking he could do better but he's not. When will players stop drinking the kool-aid that a bigger program is a better program. Duke has had a ton of transfers over the years as as UA and UNC, etc. Better to be at SDSU where you can ball out rather than be on the bench. But I'm hoping this means Narain reclassifies.

I would doubt we pulled his schollie but IF we have 2 guys coming in who play the same position and the other guy appears better then the writing should be on the wall that grass is greener elsewhere for him.

Where he ends up should answer a lot of questions about his departure here.

I doubt we pulled the scholarship. It looks like he really did not progress during the past year. Stars don't mean everything; however, I think ESPN has him as a two star. No way he ends up at a premiere basketball school.

I'm very interested to hear how all of this played out, and I wish the guy the best. For his sake I hope it was on his terms, for the programs sake I hope it's due to something bigger/better in the fold.

Not really 'that' surprising. Don't think he would have seen the court in the next 2+ years at a minimum.

Were down to 10 scholarship players. 2 open spots and Max is sitting. Is it time to pick up the phone and call the St John's 6'10 pot head Chris Obekpa, what is NC State transfer 6'9" C Kyle Washington up to?

He may be looking for a place where he has a better chance of playing. I expect the Aztecs will add a player for next year.

It will work out for the best for both sides.
The star of that Lanwdale team was Metu.

I can't find anything online about it. Who is Scott Sommer? He worked for SDSU scout.com. He knows what he is talking about.

Yes he is a project and he probably did not want to redshirt. No way we need him this year anyway.

I understand but he is not good at basketball I have watched a ton of tape.We are better off getting a more talented player in next years recruiting class.
