Does anyone know what is going to be on the uncompleted front side of the Center: more steps, water feature?

the JAM center is a testament to the FACT that SDSU can compete with any school in athletics, and should never cry about not being able to accomplish anything. The top25 Football initiative is NOT a joke. I think we can do it.....the JAM center is proof.

The JAM Center is a prime example that if you have a high quality program/product , contributions start to come in . A good % of the money donated was by the JAM guys , who are not even alums but local business leaders ,who believe in the SDSU basketball program . A practice center is needed for quality MBB to compete, especially non P5 schools. Fowler donated money for football program because he wanted to try to keep Aztec football moving forward .He also gave money to USD Baseball- quality baseball program and is funding the Petco MBB game . Basic answer we need a high quality football team WINNING MW championships . Even average sports fans support winners .

Now that we have it,.........(fill in the blank).

Man, is it getting close to being completed. Seems like this week we'll see landscaping and hand rails along the steps go in.

... I simply hope we are able to maintain our status! The whole P5 vs. G5 chasm will probably be more of a detriment to the program... than the JAM Center is a catalyst for continued improvement.

As long as the NCAA doesn't change their tourney format our MBB is good to go. It's not like football where G5 teams are locked out of the playoffs.

in basics it shows , you produce at a high level- a team that WINS MW championships , advances post season and money starts to come in to do things . Even Brady showed potential to be a winner , so money came in . You WIN and good things happen for your program .

Definitely agree it's a concern. With the big TV contracts, initially most P5's invested in football, upgrading their FOB's & Stadiums, and filling holes. Now most have moved past that and have recently either started upgrading their BB facilities are have plans to do so. Just in the P12 OSU, Utah, UCLA & even Arizona have made recent improvements and major commitments.
However, I think there will always be the "Gonzaga syndrome" (or Wichita St) where players want to be the BIG fish in a smaller pond, knowing they can get to the dance every year. Or at least have a GREAT chance (80%+) vs. if they went to the P12 the odds at most places, even with improvements, are less than 50-60%. As much as ASU plans to throw at hoops & even with Hurley, the odds of them finishing in the top 6-7 in the P12 year in & out is still long, especially given their neighbors. So the key is making sure we stay at or near the "big Fish" in the MWC. IMO the JAM Center keeps us as a "Big Fish" in our littler pond.

Unfortunately, basketball is insignificant in the grand scheme of things when compared to football. If SDSU wants to take the next step it would help tremendously to become the next Boise State with regards to performance and national recognition.

Or you can win a National Championship like UCONN and give a rats ass about football

But Uconn got smoked by a mediocre Oklahoma team in the BCS bowl game. We want an invite to P5 we need to make a BCS bowl game an win it. Rocky at this time cant even win a hedge trimmer sponsored bowl game.
