Bummer because these things never end well. I don't remember any player decommitting from a team and then signing with them later.

There is no need for Fisher and the staff to trash K. Smith . they are out there recruiting players , if they can get a Verbal from a similar recruit they will take it . For 2016 immediate need as of today are guys that play , the 5** , 4 , 3 position, plus a maybe a guard . If K. Smith comes back asking for a scholarship it will depend on our needs at that time . So just move on and see what happens .

He's 2016, and what does this have to do with the Aztecs anymore? Stop with the nonsensical pointless bumps of threads that have nothing to do with SDSU.

Would take him in a second. Last year as a sophomore on a team that finished 6th in the Pac-12, Smith started two games and averaged: 9 minutes per game. 2 points, 1.4 rebounds per game. He shot 0% from three. 66% from the line. 20 assists and 15 turnovers. And he decommitted on SDSU. Personally, I think we can find that type of production elsewhere.

Decent defender and motor, but we are going to need guys who put points on the board. Ex-Aztec recruits/interest transferring includes: 6'7" Smith (OR), 6'4" Johnson (WASH), 6'5" Cyrus (DePaul), 6'5 Stewart (Pitt) 6'8 Donovan (Wake) 6'10 Jones (Wyo)

Thanks!

It doesn't appeal to me to go after a guy who verbally committed to us, then decommitted to go to Oregon, then decides to transfer and we would accept him back with open arms. I'm all for not holding grudges, but that seems like a bit much if he actually was trying to come here. He did reportedly tell McDaniels that he should come here though, which was obviously awesome for us (and turned out to be better than Smith coming here).

Well there was a string of seasons where Fisher's SDSU was known as "Transfer, bounce back U". Think Bland, Abukar, Rahon, even X Thames. Sometimes 17-18 year olds don't make good choices and wake up one day realizing they made a mistake.

He was supposed to be a good shooter coming out of high school, but is 3-25 from 3 in his career (0-8 as a sophomore). I think if the coaches believed he could help the team, they'd take him despite him backing out before, but I am not sure if his lack of success at Oregon makes him that attractive.
Cyrus looks interesting to me...averaged 7.4 points over 2 years, started 53 of 63 games. Shot 40% from 3 in conference play this year.

But no player has committed to SDSU, then decommitted and enrolled elsewhere, and then transferred in to SDSU. For that matter, is anyone aware of a college player who transferred into a program where they previously decommitted?

Maybe the Aztecs can get a twofer on decommits with Keith and Brodricks!
Give 'em both a chance to decommit again.
