I just don't want high school recruits to think that they could turn us down now because we'll be there for them later if their original choice doesn't work out. And become a dinosaur in today's recruiting world? LMAO I'm not saying lets not go after transfers, but let's go after tranfers who's had success at their school ie: Damon Lee. Not guys who can't even come off the bench at their school unless they're from Kentucky.

D'Erryl Williams had about the same number of minutes as Aaron and played much better. Why take a chance on a player who we don't know will be good?

The stats only tell part of the story.

X Thames rode the pine at WAZZU too.

We are not in a position where we are forced to hope someone is good. We are in a position where we can demand success before we accept a new transfer.

X Thames was obviously a good pick up for his, but for every Thames I can name you a James Johnson who wasnt very good in basketball despite his height.

I got as far as "Pitino didn't like his work ethic" and didn't need to finish the sentence.

Today's UT mentioned Aaron as a typical Aztec transfer , So Cal guy that wants to come back to the area , but nothing if there has been any talks . Believe Coaches can not talk about a recruit until they actually sign a NLI .Another regular red shirt transfer M. Hoetzel. Grad transferl M. Tollefsen or Lonnie Jackson
also talked about N. Narain , 6'10" that he may be down to Zags and Aztecs . Very important recruit. knowing we are going to lose Skylar, Winston , Angelo , and very likely Malik after this year . Need centers and forwards to reload. Aztecs have had former ASU verbal B. Bailey SF in for a visit . he is being pursued by Utah , BYU , Zags and ASU .
Coaches also have talked about if they bring in transfers will it limit the growth of Kell , Shrigley , JH, Zylan , D. Allen
as they put it a lot of moving parts to recruiting .

This is from Ziegler after 5pm today, SD UT Sports "....Smith’s Oregon commitment may enhance SDSU’s chances of landing high-profile transfer Shaqquan Aaron, who left Louisville after one season and has been linked to Washington and Oregon. Aaron, a Pomona native, finished his high school career at Rainier Beach, where he was rated the nation’s 27th, 30th and 33rd prospect by the major recruiting services..." Who knows? Pitino and Louisville suspended him for 9 games on improper benefits, then Pitino was quoted that needed to hit the weight room and finally dissed his work ethic. Like I said who knows, whats up with transfers and recruiting, we are 10 strong going into the fall with or without a transfer.

Perhaps a change of venue would do him well? "He just doesn't have a Louisville attitude," Louisville coach Rick Pitino said. "He's not a Louisville man in terms of the way we practice, the way we go about it." Can he get there? "If he doesn't, he'll be at another school," Pitino said. "That's the way it will be. He's never going to step on the court until he gets that attitude."

So in basic terms Ducks , Huskies , Zags ,Aztecs and maybe even USC will see if he is a fit .We know the staffs all believe they can help a guy who is willing to change for the better. Believe he has come back to the NW area for looks or can . Has he been to So Cal area lately ?. Even Coach Fisher has said , most often it is the current players that do most of the recruiting of the new players , as the transfers ask them to get answers about what it is like playing for the school. Thought Aaron was talking with Smith about the Ducks . Aztecs also trying to recruit HS recruit B. Bailey for 2016 .another SF .
A lot of AAU tournaments spring and summer . So a lot of recruiting for the coaches observing Bailey , Cage , Narain .... Think there are certain live times ( July ) and quiet times for recruiting . Aztecs should have PT for 2016 since we lose Spencer, Shepard, Chol, and most likely Pope . 3 starters .

One team's bench warmer is another team's starter (and star). And vice-versa.

From ESPN today, SDSU not on the current consideration list even with the loss of Kieth Smith at wing.
6. Shaqquan Aaron, Louisville -- The Seattle native missed the first 10 games due to an NCAA issue and played sparingly once he became eligible. However, the freshman was a highly regarded player coming out of high school and should have plenty of suitors.
Considering: USC, Oregon, Washington

Shaqquan Aaron from Rainer Beach HS in Seattle is leaving Louisville. Allen is a 6'7 175 Wing (SG/SF) and was ranked as a 5-star from Scout, and 4-star from ESPN and Rivals, maybe good for the Aztecs, he would sit 15/16 and be eligible after Shep and Pope leave. Pope is ranked as a first rounder in 2016. Aaron was also recruited by UCLA, USC, UNLV, Cal, Zona, OSU, Uconn, Cuse' among others. There was no love loss between Aaron and Pitino, even-though the kid was a top 30 rated player at graduation. Pitino wanted him to hit the weights and build his body up. He was in the dog house last year and didn't play much. He may also may have not put in the work. www.gocards.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/040815aaa.htmlwww.verbalcommits.com/players/shaqquan-aaronespn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/117428/shaqquan-aaronsports.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Shaqquan-Aaron-115958Who called this?
