You know, I could have brokered a deal with Vista to make a game happen.
They would have done it for $5,000 plus gas and medical bills...
Big Red VS the Red and Black! It could have been glorious!

There's a better chance of an Elvis summer tour than that happening. Do they even HAVE 10,000 fans? I'm not joking. Regardless, they're not gonna fork over $30 to watch this turd. I'd eat my hat if that happens. Does anyone know the operating cost of an Aztec football game at the Q? We'd save on that alone. Just wait. Sterk will give San Diego University fans some kinda special deal. A ticket, a hot dog and a Coke for 15 bucks. The ticket will be for the top deck but those ingrates will just make a bee line for the plaza section and nobody will stop them from sitting all around me. Got a hunch I'm gonna need to supplement my pre-game beer with some shots to survive this one. he could make the game free, and it wouldnt break 30k attended.

Official Statement from SDFF: While I'm excited about the opportunity to finally see my two favorite college football teams compete against each other, I understand that this will most likely be a glorified scrimmage that will result in a lopsided victory for San Diego State. On the bright side, this provides the USD student-athletes a rare opportunity to compete against an FBS program in an NFL stadium. I hope both teams finish this game free of injuries and followed by success in 2015.
P.S.S. This account will most likely get banned since Willy L. Rupp loves protecting his ********** mates. So F X X X you and have a nice day! What the hell are you talking about? Seems like you were celebrating excessively just before you stumbled your way to a computer to post this. I'd say this egregious breach of good taste indeed merits a severe consequence (and in this context what I say is not just idle rhetoric). However, I will give you an opportunity to come to your senses and think seriously about whether you want to continue posting on AztecMesa. For the moment I will not demand a personal apology from you, but I think such would be more than appropriate in the case of AztecAndre. Not to mention his mother. If this was an attempt at humor, be assured that the attempt was unsuccessful. In cases such as this, I have no sense of humor. One more thing. I have been called many things, but never ever Willy. The biggest problem with this game, and next year's schedule in general, is that 2015 will be the 2nd straight year without an exciting home game to make buying season tickets suck a little less. I cancelled my season tickets last year becuuse of the pathetic schedule, and this year is just as bad if not worse. I pay to be entertained, and there's not much entertainment with this pathetic home schedule. If they have a great year I'll throw down a few dollars to see the Fresno State game. But the message here is for the football program/athletic department: If you want to be able to count on my money every year (via a season ticket purchase) there needs to be at least one Marquee game on the schedule.

Not even a good one. Just a complete zero. Can't even feel sorry for someone so stupid, I mean BEYOND stupid. Was it necessary to bring his name into this topic? That was stupid on your part. He (or you if that's what the word is) was coming here to stir trouble regardless- there is no doubt about it. Other than an internet radio show, nothing could make him happier. I just beat him to the punch is all.

I can understand a degree of dissatisfaction with this game, and for all the well-known reasons. But the hand-wringing that some of you are engaged in is just over the top. Sure, it's a bad deal, but probably the best that could be arranged given the circumstances. I'm thinking that the administration was convinced that it would be inadvisable to give up and settle for an eleven game schedule. To borrow an over-used expression, it is what it is. Life will go on. Most important, I am sure that this is a freakish one time situation.
So let's all take a deep breath and relax.

I still say the real missed opportunity was Big Red VS the Red and Black!
Aztec William and I could have gotten press credentials and called the game from the press box!

It's a warm up game before we play Cal. I don't get why people are so emotional about this. Exactly. Its a tune up which is what we need. I don't see why everyone is so upset that we are playing a IAA team. All I want is a tune up game.

I'm not apologizing for $#!+. He should have kept my name out of his punk ass posts. He's been talking $#!+ about me for years and you did nothing about it, now you're protecting him like he's your little prison bitch.

I'm not upset that USD is on the schedule I'm upset that they expect us to pay for season tickets when they don't bother to schedule any good games.

I wonder if there would have been this much reaction if the announcement was that the 12th game was Yale ... Ivy League schools also don't have athletic scholarships and the game would also not have counted toward bowl eligibility. I know it's not a great example, but Army played Yale last season, and the SEC now considers Army a P5 for scheduling purposes (LoL) -- of course Army lost that game, but still ...

AzWm One's response is likely to be in direct proportion to one's confidence in Sterk and Rocky. In Pullman Washington, there were unflattering rumors concerning Sterk's early "retirement". In football, they were treading water and/or sinking. His hiring of Paul Wulff helped precipitate his "decision". We offered him cover.

It's the 2nd year in a row there hasn't been a decent home schedule. Dave 'promises' exciting anouncements about future schedules, that's great. When those teams are finalized I'll consider buying tickets again. Until then, I'm not going to pay to watch uninteresting games, when I have a better view from my couch and it costs me nothing.

FYI - let's keep the thread on topic. Don't feed the trolls. I'll clean this up when I get home. For now let's just think about the missed matchup opportunity that I mentioned befote!.

Many of you on here are a bunch of whiny bitches. I HATE the home schedule, but it is what it is. I'll still support the team and will go to the games.
If you decide to bitch and not support the team and stay home for the games, keep it to yourself. You're not helping anyone by bitching.

I don't see why everyone is so upset that we are playing a IAA team. All I want is a tune up game. It will be a tune up alright, for our bench players. If the starters are still in there at half time, this team is in trouble. That's how much of a mismatch this game is supposed to be.

This is truly a "Who Cares" as far as I'm concerned.
Having a warm-up game before Cal makes lots of sense.
At least it's not St. Kat's…

Will you still support them when they drop down to the FCS? What about when the program gets made a club sport? Will you still go to games and support the Aztec football team then? The PWB (Powers that be) read this board. If we don't let the PTB know that this schedule is unacceptable and/or if the PTB don't believe we will with hold our support, then how can we ever expect to get better results? I support the Aztecs proudly, but the PWB need to earn my donation. If you still believe in the 'Drive to 25', everyone in the program needs to be held accountable for failure and this years schedule (like last years) is a capial F, FAIL!
