I don't know all of the facts - actually I don't know any of the facts so I'll just hope things work out for the best. (Does any one here know all of the facts? That's a rhetorical question.)

I of course would love to have him on the team but I think it is a bad decision for him to continue to play. got it, counselor. say it a third time for emphasis.

Unreal.

Are you? No, but I know the ones that he's seen have cleared him to play. But apparently you don't believe them, which led me to believe you must know more about his heart issue than they do, or are you just full of BS?
They're constantly monitoring his heart - he wouldn't be on the court if it didn't pass through multiple people who know more than you or me.
Are you SDSU's insurance rep or something? Their lawyer? Tell me 1 reason why you are more informed or have a more relevant opinion than anyone involved? Just 1.
If he's been cleared by everyone involved, and they have the support of not only DP but his parents, why shouldn't he play? If you don't have more info than them then why not be happy for the guy rather than bitch & complain yet again?

This man needs to get to hospital. What is it doctor? It's a big building where they keep sick people, but that's not important right now.

That is my opinion like I had stated. I do not feel like it is worth the risk.

It's now been reliably determined by numerous physicians and specialists that what he's dealing with isn't life-threatening, it's treatable, and he can play if he wants. Now there's the adjustments that need to be made to meds and activity level, and that will take time - and as I read elsewhere - time that Dwayne simply doesn't have. That's what they said about Hank Gathers as well right? Now, that is a scary thing to say. They definitely know & understand more now than they did when he played. It might have been the difference in the game had the Aztecs had him available vs. Boise, but that is past now so they have to get ready to play well at Vegas.

There is a difference between Ventricular Fib, which Hank Gathers had and Atrial fib, which Polee has/had. Gather's~~ V Fib is life threatening. A fib is not considered to be. I suggest all who comment, read up on the difference beween the two..........Many framous athletes played with A fib, including Jerry West and Larry Bird. Many Tri Athletes as well as female Olympic canoest and rowers.some causes include stress, diet and failure to keep hydrated and electrolyte level at optimum. Many controlled the a fib with monitoring levels of magnesium, potasium , etc, diet, stress reduction, circadian rythm reset, etc........ Polee in hjis press conference, made it clear, his incident was a wake up call and he is now addressing it with taking better care of himself...At his press conference after the san Jose State game, he looked very healthy...
PS A good resource read on A fib. DR David Cannom cardiologist Good Samaritan Hospital Los Angeles.

I have what Polee II has. It is manageable and had several levels. I suspect his is more severe than mine. There are some forms that are pretty close to the edge where you get what my Doc describes as a branch block. With the right monitoring and care, I suspect he'll be ok playing, not fully knowing what his arrhythmia truly is. That's what those world class doctors caring for him are paid for.

Hey, kjw88, can you tell us what foods regulate an irregular heart rate? No? Thought so. Big Pharma may be the enemy to some, but sorry to say that drugs really are the answer to some chronic illnesses. I'm not gonna get on my big boy soapbox here, but please, if you've got an argument related to medicine, I request you back it up with science. Hey kaztec, I only asked about the particular drug DP is being prescribed. Big Pharma has a track record of isolating compounds, often found in food, which they patent in order to produce a synthetic drug. Keep in mind, you can't patent food so in the process of isolating the active ingredient the bioavailability and beneficial nutrients is lost. DP has said that he has cleaned up his diet and perhaps, drugs may be the quickest, easiest solution to get him back on the court for his remaining year of eligibility. That being said, the list of pharmaceuticals' adverse effects is always a lengthy one so I don't want to see DP compromise his health later down the road. Check out "Bought" ( boughtmovie.net/free-viewing/?AFFID=197258) and it provides an overview of the corrupt and incestuous relationship between Govt Regulatory Agencies, Big Pharma, Big Ag, Mainstream Media so it's good to have a healthy discussion and skepticism about the state of health care, the causes of many chronic illnesses in America, good science, data manipulation, the use of scientists-for-hire, bad science.
