On another note, isn't it awesome the way Winston celebrates after making a shot? I do the same thing after I make a post in the forum!!! (I just did the hand to the ear Rock move!)

It's generally the people who "sucked" at sports themselves who react this way. Others know the ups and downs. I would say in general its people who never even played past jr. high or 10th grade... Nobody with a spine reacts the way some here have, especially no one that has any respect for student athletes. I think larger picture it also shows who has a) been through diversity and knows how to handle it maturely, and who is b) content with their own life and doesn't feel the need to project. That's absolute horseshit statement. I know plenty of people who played varsity highschool/college sports lose their mind over their college/pro teams not playing well. Our fan base is no different than any other...

Do you mean to say "a) adversity?" Some of us actually did play sports through high school and still have plenty of respect for student athletes. Contrary to other beliefs, not all of us try to "relive our glory" by being over-the-top, over-zealous fans.

On another note, isn't it awesome the way Winston celebrates after making a shot? Coach Dutcher was considerably less impressed when, following a basket, WSIII airplane zoomed down the court instead of getting back on defense. He was, in fact, quite vocal in his dissatisfaction.

That's a good sign. I think Dutch is going to inject some much needed discipline into his team. The big unknown is his offensive system as opposed to Fisher's.

However, on your first point, from my experience what papacy said isn't horseshit, much less absolute horseshit. In fact, I sense that the most irate fans are generally the least knowledgeable. That's particularly true of basketball.

That's particularly true of basketball. It's partially a function of game knowledge, partially having nothing else to fill the void in their own lives, so wins and losses are life and death. Maturity plays a big part too.
