I agree with you 100%! Just because Coach Fisher has completely changed and made our basketball team so much better than anybody could have imagined, Life moves on and people want to see things improving and getting better. That is life. He gets tons of praise from me, but he also gets criticism for me as well. The bottom line is we are never going to take that next step as a school until we get an offense. Our defense is very good but we lose games because of our crappy offense. As a fan what's really frustrating is that we have guys who can shoot, but they're not being coached up and given the opportunity. My offensive scheme would have Pope scoring 20 pts and Chol at 10 - 15 Points, they're completely capable with an offense designed around them. Tell me you can say that about any of the other imposters.

It's ridonkulous to say you're not a true fan because you call out your team. They underachieved and some players never lived up to their hype this year. They stunk last nite with everything on the line . Plain and simple choke job. Pure Aztecs in every way

If we can't make free throws, we won't shoot well while being guarded!

I usually stay away from the board after a loss but I looked last night and it seemed pretty tame compared to some of our other losses. Much agreed with lots of the posts at the end. Last time I checked, it's a damn message board. Roll with the goood and bad (as long that it doesn't get personal). As with the game, roll with the wins and losses. Hey! Marks is a good player. Actually enjoy watching him play. So we lost...learn and move forward. Maybe it wasn't a total fan meltdown 'cause somehow, it seemed like this wasn't our game and we knew it.Not complacency...just truth. Go Aztecs.

Why is it that people can never say anything negative about the team without being labeled a troll and attacked? People's expectations have been raised and they feel like the team, and a few players in particular, have not lived up to the hype and expectations. We had a chance to make a statement with a win tonight and instead got punched in the nose at home. Not sure why it is so wrong to be pissed about that. Some negative comments are absolutely appropriate. However, on the heels of a football season which engendered almost nothing but negativity here, the meltdowns after every loss by this year's basketball team which I call the Gang That Can't Shoot Straight ( shit happens) is par for the course. So when I sometimes feel like wallowing in depression as I sometimes do, I'll spend the day here. However, since most of the time I don't feel that way, I just have little interest in most of the threads posted here these days. In Fish I Trust.

If we can't make free throws, we won't shoot well while being guarded! The FTs last night were: SDSU 7/11=77%, BSU 16/20=80%. Those #s are assbackward for a home game & shouldn't happen! JMO!

Right on. This is exactly what I was thinking. We simply don't have a consistent go to guy. We have no offense. This is the main reason why we lost. Yeah, we could've hustled more, coached a little better, etc... but the simple fact Is, we have no consistent O, or go to guy. That's by we lost, and why we potentially Will lose down the road. Period. No, we did get outhustled last night. We did get outcoached. Let's not try to paint a rosier picture of the game than realtiy warrants. Look at the rebouding. We got our asses kicked on the boards. They outhustled us for rebounds. They got a ton of offensive rebounds, while we got almost none. They were a smaller team, and yet they killed us in rebounding. That is a clear indicator of being outhustled. They stripped the ball from us in the paint at least five times. They blocked as many shots as we did (or at least forced our guys to lose control of the ball while trying to shoot), and they're a smaller team. Our coaches couldn't come up with anything to effectively defend them in the last 10 minutes, and they couldn't come up with anything to effectively get inside to get some easier baskets. We got out hustled, out played, and out coached. We should have no problem admitting that if this really is a top tier program. That kind of thing is going to happen sooner or later. But it should cause no panic, just unhappiness and discontent with the ONE game. But we also shouldn't shy away from calling a spade a spade. Last night saw a poor effort overall from the team and coaches. It wasn't like they intentionally tanked the game, but they did get out hustled, out played, and out coached. But it's nothing to panic over as long as it doesn't happen again. Eric, come on now. We can out coach some one all we want, but if we have no offense then outcoaching them is not going to matter. We have ZERO go to guy. Get to the nitty gritty already. Sheesh.

LOL!!!! That was really funny ? thanks for the humor as this has helped me cope with a horrible loss. I'm tired of the "tell it to their face" fools. perhaps if a coach would do their job and tell it to the players GRILLS, players would be motivated to do something about it. Too much posing after shots made, act like you have made a basket before. think we need to bring Bobby Knight out of retirement, would love to see some chair hoisting last night!

If it were just, as you wrote, "anything" it wouldn't be a deal. However, some here harp away on the same issues, and/or players constantly. Nothing is wrong with being PO'd, but some are always PO'd.

Key plays in the game were DP sitting on the bench after the high our guys were on last week, and AQ going to the bench after his 2nd, and 4th fouls. TK took some poor shots, and BSU stopped the ball either going in to JJ and then coming back out to open shooters. One of our constants is that we make as many FT's as the other teams take. we were not allowed to do that last night. We stopped scoring when AQ went to the bench. Boise St is good.

The officiating was definitely not good, but we cannot blame them as they do not run our crappy offense. Fisher deserves the blame for running out such a horrible offense and not making the needed changes.

Yes..all good points, except ,, yes tHe Aztecs beat BYU...but the difference is... BYU Has Improved ..not the same team. Was watching the game and the BYU coach countered evry move the Gonzaga coach made and vice versa...SDSU vs Boise...only coach who made adjustments was the Boise coach

Of course every team has a goal, but I don't recall any players or coaches boasting and braging about how great they're going to be this season. Win or lose, those players bust their ass on that court. Meanwhile, you're on a message board whining like a spoiled eight-year old girl, bringing nothing to the table. If you're going to act like that, then don't beat your chest and talk $#!+ when this team is having success. That's sellout $#!+.

Fisher deserves the blame for running out such a horrible offense and not making the needed changes. The O has been petty good since the mess at BSU. Since then we've scored 67, 72, 63, and 74. Much of our game is slashing to the bucket to either score or get fouled. Last night, we were getting fouled, but the fouls were not being called. Refs were not the only problem, BSU removing JJ as the distributor hurt more. Without a true point, AQ is next best, and he was on the bench due to, well, fouls. Please let us know what kind of changes you'd like to see. Thanks

Your line: "We had no business losing that game." Is the epitome of the entitled fan mindset. Really? WE WERE UP BY 9 POINTS IN THE 2nd HALF! We had no business losing a game when we had that kind of lead. We had a 7 point lead in both the 1st half and 2nd half. We have more athletic players than they do. We have taller players than they do. We had no business losing that game when we had that kind of lead. Stating that has nothing to do with being entitled, it has to do with a poor performance by the team IN THIS ONE GAME. They collapsed, and that's not OK, no matter how you paint the picture. Your problem is you just don't understand basketball.

They were more aggressive than we were, plus some of those were late intentional fouls. So skewed. The eh main thing that frustrated me was we settled for way too many perimeter shots instead of taking it to them. Played tentative. but it's one game. Just one.
