Seems he or NN would fit the mold as a C/5 players for the Aztecs in 2016 . BJ coming in 2015 , but many are saying needs to add to his frame , and is very raw . Very difficult to get a good read on the guys since they do not always play against other tall players .

Kone is big at 6'8" 230, 35 and 25 in the CIF Playoffs is still respectable and scoring included a 3pt'r. He shot looks good on tape, jumper as well as FTs.

Kone scores 23 and had 15 boards against Solomon Young to beat Sacramento HS in the Nor Cal Finals. Unfortunately, Buddah Jones and Lawndale lost to La Mirada in the southern section 49-40. They will not face each other in the State Finals.
Kone is for real!

Mercury News boys basketball player of the year: Ben Kone, Archbishop Mitty. I really like this kids game. Kone, Narain and Cage, we need to pull down 2 of 3 of these guys. Kone hasn't got the press but lead his team to the state Finals. Kone averaged 20.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 blocks per game and shot 58 percent this season. In the final three games, he averaged 25 points and 18.7 rebounds. And BTW he has one more season left at Mitty and is just 17 years old. www.mercurynews.com/high-school-sports/ci_27831208/mercury-news-boys-basketball-player-year-ben-kone

yes they would be 3 top recruits , if the Aztecs can sign 2 or 3 would be great . We lose a lot up front going into 2016 season , Spencer , Chol , Malik , Winston ( if he is here for 15-16 season ). Biggest loss down low since Thomas, White and K. Leonard. We had major drop off the next year. We could have the JH to get them the ball . To get the guys it may help this year if Spencer and Chol really become involved in the offense. We know that Malik and Winston will be , time to start involving our centers , into the offense, starting with this season.

I actually think it would be perfect if Narian did reclassify to 2015 and redshirt. This would give him an entire year to learn the system and to mature physically a little bit. I would try to get all three of these guys as well as McCoy in 2017!

Getting Narain for either 2015 or 2016 would be great . what ever he wants. Sign him up . Kone is also a player that would help . We are going to need help inside . Cage , hope we can add him . So far only Zylan , BJ , and D. Allen are going to be there for 2016 at the 3 , 4 , 5 positions . So even the regular transfer J. Williams PF from Mizu would help . led his SEC team in scoring and rebounding. Needs to red shirt for 2015-16 season.

BTW, wasn't all that impressed with J Williams when I watched them play (4-5 times). A decent rebounder, but only led them in scoring because a) they were bad, and b) he took a ton of shots for them. A RS year might help though.

PF Ben Kone (CA) earned his way into EYBL Lexington: Top Western Pivots.
Recap: Ben Kone, 2016 PF, Oakland Soldiers: Kone is just beginning to tap into his excellent potential. With a game devoid of flair, Kone converts around the rim. In blowing out the Alabama Challenge he posted 16 and 10. The forward has a nice baby hook with either hand.

Missouri transfer Jonathan Williams III told @cbssports he will visit SMU on 5/8 + Georgetown on 5/15. Gonzaga + Michigan St. As far as I see we're not in the mix for Williams. Still hoping for Narain, Cage and Kone.

Does not seem Aztecs are in the mix for any transfer . Concentrating on 2016 and whatever Nolan Narain , decides to do .

The HS guys are on the AAU circuit , trying to upgrade their ratings , college coaches can not talk about recruits until the officially sign them , so hard to really say who they are going after . Believe Kone has been getting good reviews , We have no realistic clue where we are with Cage , Kone , Bailey, Aaron.... . We know we lose Spencer , Chol, Shepard and most likely Pope so , other then Narain , when he Signs , to go with Zylan and D. Allen. we need to reload at the center and forwards for 2016 . Kone at 6'9' ,220 could help

I do not think SDSU has much interest in Kone Yeah, we probably don't have much interest in Kone. I'm sure that's why we offered him this past September. Ok then.

There are many non committable offers made by assistants, I'm guessing this was nothing more than that. SDSU probably knew Kone was not going to decide anytime soon and wanted to evaluate him and see if they wanted to take the next step in their recruitment, as evidence by the lack of a visit my guess is we have cooled off.
