Yup. Casual fans would have barely noticed a win vs Oregon State. It's always the same people who show. // Sent from my GS4 // Casual fan or not, everyone in San Diego would have noticed a win at Oregon State. Ha, everyone? I like the optimism but you couldn't get 50% of the 100k+ Aztec alumni in San Diego to notice. Let alone people who aren't invested in SDSU. // Sent from my GS4 //

Does anyone actually know the real number? most figures have the number at 200K SDSU alumni in San Diego county, the fact that only 75K are actively involved is telling. It is important to keep in mind that San Diego State was a "commuter" school for a long time, and many of those graduates have the same sort of attachment to SDSU that JC grads have to schools like Grossmont or Mesa. Those alumni that went on to other schools like USC or Cal just don't have the connection to SDSU that we all would hope they would. EDIT: I did my undergrad on the East Coast so my connection to SDSU is through growing up in San Diego and choosing to do my MBA at SDSU

I think that would be difficult to sort out because many on the waiting list for basketball can gain points by purchasing football season tickets (whether they use them or not)

There's always a bottleneck in Corona and then a bit again in Temecula but assuming you have at least one other person with you and can use the HOV lane in SD, it's then smooth sailing the rest of the way.

Maybe thats why I notice so many open season ticket holder seats in sections P36,37, and 38.

Maybe we could do what Michigan is doing this weekend - buy 2 Coke products and get 2 free tickets to the Minn. game. Never thought I would see that day at Mich. That's a stunner. I was watching their game against Utah last week and couldn't believe the empty seats once the game started. People might say it's because Michigan is down, but they've been down before and always packed the Big House. They aren't alone, though -- this is happening nationwide at some of the biggest programs going, even in areas where it's the only game in town. It's one of the reasons I'd go with a modestly-sized on-campus stadium when it comes to be "that time". Maybe 45,000, and convertible to soccer in case the sands of time erase football and bring our society to a bigger appreciation of soccer (not saying I'm a fan of soccer, which I'm decidedly not, but it is a distinct possibility things might go that way eventually). The weather had a big effect on that Michigan crowd last week....it was ridiculous! They even suspended the game for nearly 2 hours and when they finished the last 6 minutes they said the stadium was just about empty. It is weird for UM to not have the big house filled though. Another reason Brady's pink slip is in the mail!

It wasn't supposed to, but Coke ran with it without permission.

Another reason Brady's pink slip is in the mail! I can't bring myself to believe the weather had anything to do with their original crowd. That's about as Midwestern hardy a bunch as it gets. They've had way worse over the years than the 3 hours of drizzle that came down before the heavy stuff arrived. This is due more to a shifting of the sands in terms of viewership.

Yes, that's the funny part. UM NEVER OK'd the promotion; they didn't want or need to run it, but Coke went ahead.

Don't forget that SDSU doesn't announce the attendance for FB/Basketball. They announce tickets sold.

Don't forget that SDSU doesn't announce the attendance for FB/Basketball. They announce tickets sold. Not to worry. Enough of us who post here also attend, so if the tickets sold number is signifcantly higher than BITS, this will be the first place its acknowledged and discussed. My feeling though is there will be plenty of students. Lets just see how everyone else does.

Maybe 25% full and they announce it as a sell out. I know it's anecdotal. But I'm out of town this weekend and I had the hardest time finding homes for 5 tickets including free parking and access to the Aztec Club tents. It wasn't quite as hard as finding people to go to the Pads game late in the year... but it wasn't easy to find people who actually wanted to go.

More than I thought. Then again, with the tens of thousands of alumni and over 3 million total people in the county, you would think the Aztecs would get more bodies in the seats.
