I did my part for the OOC as an OT fan. I'll see whomever in Boise, otherwise I am at a bar or on the couch the rest of the way (perhaps the bowl game). That said, losing the way we did to OSU will keep a few out of the Q. For UNLV? The under is likely, but what is the vibe in SD and on the Mesa? Saying there is a lack of promotion isn't a good thing to see.

smart, that will bring a decent amount of students. lets see how the alumni do. I think we surprise ourselves and go over. GT is 5pm which is favorable to 7:30 as well.

Can the girls come with the blanket? I'll fly down for that. New over/under: How many of those will be used in the Q because the user had a little too much fun during tailgate? 5 in the student section, 14 in the rest.

Blankets for the first 20k? Hope they don't have leftovers. It must cost a fortune to supply 20,000 blankets!

I don't think the loss hurts attendances; nor do I think a win would have helped. Now if we were undefeated and getting a little pub for being just outside the top 25, maybe... but other than some national buzz, its always just gonna be the regulars. Yup. Casual fans would have barely noticed a win vs Oregon State. It's always the same people who show. // Sent from my GS4 // Casual fan or not, everyone in San Diego would have noticed a win at Oregon State.

Agree that the freebie blankets will get more students to show up so I'll revise my estimation to 26 and change.

I will clarify my estimation to say the announced will be between 25-30K, actual attendance will be 24-26K

Little doubt it will be die hards, some students and the beach blanket crowd for the Rebels , unless SDSU tries to add fans with Hispanic Heritage month the NFL is promoting it . SDSU Aztecs could be a natural tie in . The only home game in September.
There is only 1 home game in October as well.

Maybe we could do what Michigan is doing this weekend - buy 2 Coke products and get 2 free tickets to the Minn. game. Never thought I would see that day at Mich.

Well, I'm hoping like heck that I'm wrong. However, there were 30,700 tickets distributed for the opener, about 8,000 of which appeared to be students. If the past is predicate, there will only be 1/3 as many students in attendance as there was for the opener so that will be a reduction of about 5,000 and I'll say that the UNC and OSU losses will mean that another couple thousand other fans won't show. That said, if we win the next three as we're fully capable of doing, we'll have about 45K for the next home game against Hawaii, which is the Sky Show. I thought they said that Idaho was going to have the Sky Show. Did I miss what they said, or did they change it?

Blankets for the first 20k? Hope they don't have leftovers. It must cost a fortune to supply 20,000 blankets! You would be very surprised on their cost for the blankets. They get a very cheap price from the manufacturer/producer which saves them $! As an example about 30 years ago I went to a Padres game with friends at The Murph' (what the Q was called then), and my friend's wife wondered how costly it was for the Padres to give away T-shirts to the crowd. She thought it was very expensive to do that, and I said to her, "No they probably got a great price, and they are only paying about .25 cents per shirt I'll bet!" She thought that was outreageous, and didn't believe it! So, the next day she called someone she knew had inside info on the Padres organization about the T-shirts, and was told that they only paid .15 per shirt in order to afford to buy them in the thousands. Even with the silk-screen printing done on them! I don't know what they might pay for these blankets, but you can be sure they got a tremendous deal!

I think they chose Idaho in order to do Vandulls fans a favor. After all, fireworks are verboten at the Kibbie & Bits Quonset Hut so it's a chance for the families of the players and coaches to have a second 4th of July for once.

Maybe we could do what Michigan is doing this weekend - buy 2 Coke products and get 2 free tickets to the Minn. game. Never thought I would see that day at Mich. That's a stunner. I was watching their game against Utah last week and couldn't believe the empty seats once the game started. People might say it's because Michigan is down, but they've been down before and always packed the Big House. They aren't alone, though -- this is happening nationwide at some of the biggest programs going, even in areas where it's the only game in town. It's one of the reasons I'd go with a modestly-sized on-campus stadium when it comes to be "that time". Maybe 45,000, and convertible to soccer in case the sands of time erase football and bring our society to a bigger appreciation of soccer (not saying I'm a fan of soccer, which I'm decidedly not, but it is a distinct possibility things might go that way eventually).
