I don't think there's any chance that AQ starts. He is a poor ball handler. At least with Shepard you create a matchup nightmare.
I'll go:
Shepard Polee JJ O'Brien Chol Spencer

I think Z will be a mainstay by Christmas. I think he will end up being the heart and soul of the team. Do you mean Zylan or Zabo? I don't expect any freshman to start the first game, and I don't expect to see Fisher use the same starting lineup all of next season like he would normally do. There are just too many options. I do expect Shrigley to get a large number of minutes next year - we need scorers on the floor, and what he did down the stretch his first season was impressive.

Well, who cares who starts in the first game? Polee didn't even play in the second game last year against UA. Fisher will give everyone a chance early on and then come up with his best 8 players.
But if you want to pick a starting lineup for the first game you know Fisher will probably go with some vets.
Shepard Shrigley Polee JJ Spencer
Although, he may want to start AQ or Williams at PG and keep one of either Shrigley or Polee to be a spark off the bench. For any new player to start they are going to have to really kill it in practice so I don't think Kell would start, at least in the first game anyway.

Shep JJ Polee Chol Spencer
That would be a monster defensive squad. Maybe Shrigs over Chol, as Aztecgold indicates, but I doubt it.

I would love to see someone step up and demand a starting spot with Spencer, polee, Winston, and Chol. I think that with JJ's grit, smarts, and flexibility that he would be a great guy coming off the bench.

Who starts the first scrimmage or X game vs San Marcos , most likely guys coming back and red shirt , Spencer , Chol(reports he had a great red shirt season ,working against Davis) JJ until the 16:00 mark , Shepard and whomever is ahead in the battle for PG - Zabo, Williams, AQ or Shepard/Kell . More important then starting is minutes played among the 10 guys , could be 8-28 minutes each . More important is minutes played in the Maui T - there could be some very important games played there at Thanksgiving that will be important for MM selection and seeding. So we can wait for the reports coming out during the summer school practices .

Kevin Zabo wasn't good enough to be the starting point guard on his high school team and half the people here think he will beat seasoned players like Shepard, Quinn, D'Erryl and Trey Kell for that spot? as a true freshman? LOLOLOLOL.

LOL, if Zabo starts for us then we are really fuked at PG, really hope Shep makes the leap next season, as i don't really trust a freshman who also can't shoot lead our team

Rick we have not heard from you about your Lobos rotation . Aztecs as you can see we all have the guys we like and there could easily be 10-13 guys battling for PT ,more important then who stats the first scrimmage or X game . I believe we could have 10 guys sharing PT . The battle begins during summer school practice and will continue towards the fall with a very important T in Maui around Thansgiving . Not sure if the game at Washington has a date . The difference between the top 10 players could be very close and as Polee showed being a starter is not as important as who is there on the court when the game is on the line. We have 4 talented freshman , will see who is healthy and can make the transition from HS . We also are waiting to see what returning players step now that we have lost 2 key starting players . Until that time it is all guess work. Let the summer School practices begin.

To me there is only one "Z" and that's Zylan. I think he will become a starter by Christmas and remain a starter for the next few years. The guy is a beast that can do everything.

As of now (2 scholarships still open) - Neal, Greenwood, Delaney, Goodman, Aget- set in stone if nobody better recruited.
As an aside, I would be shocked if Polee (who I think is first team all-conference) doesn't start for you even if that means that Winnie sits down.(Spencer, JJ, Polee, Chol, and Quinn is my prediction). I can't see Winnie as your starting point guard. I noticed at crunch time last year he was on the bench quite a bit.
