M. Cage Jr is currently rated #55 by Rivals to start the month of July . July is" evaluation time" for most coaches ,where they can attend most weekend AAU events , to watch most recruits . Should be interesting to see what recruits are rated at the end of the month . There can not be any face to face conversation during July but you can talk to recruits on the phone or social media . Important month for the coaches , plus we have additional scholarship now that BJ wants to look at other schools . August is considered "quiet " time before full recruiting starting in September and visits through first week in November. Early NLI is a little over 4 months away . Early JAM opening a little over 1 month away.

Wishing an Aztec4Life well is always a good post. Yes, Dad's an Aztec, sis is an Aztec. MJ soon to be an Aztec. Nothing wrong with keeping it in the Cage and Aztec family.

Jason Tatum commited to Duke today, will his best friend Harry Giles follow him to Duke or sign with Kentucky? If Giles goes to Kentucky, MJ would have to play behind 2016 recruits Giles and perhaps 6'9 230 Tai Wynyard from New Zealand.
If Giles follows to Duke, Kentucky could land Cage. They have PT available for big men in 2016 and beyond.

Tatum #2 and Giles #1 are good friends and were roommates for 27 days with the U19 team in Colorado and Greece, according to ESPN.
Duke is heavily recruiting the 6-10 Giles, with Coach K and several assistants consistently watching him at the Peach Jam, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see him follow Tatum there when he announces later.
Is Cage coming to SDSU or is Kentucky a real option...?

Some Peach Jam games are on ESPNU today . Top two PF/ C are Maker and Giles , both in top 10 . Between 10 and 20 Leaf ( AZ ), Bolden , J . Allen , Spellman ( Nova ) . So not that many this year in the top 20. Then from 22 to 50 :Adebayo, Collins ( Zags),Azubulke , Huell , Humphries, Ado, Sach Killea- Jones , Deron Davis , Bradley, Wynyard ( Kentucky Verbal), Herrard . Cage is #55 and Narain #62.
As we have talked about after the top 12 rated guys it is a wild scramble to evaluate the talent. Especially the taller players. First big week will be done today . Then two more big weeks for the recruits to show their skills and coaches to evaluate . Most visits get set up for the fall.

Just looking at their roster right now they have 3 guys who play the 4 & 5 position. Derek Willis, Marcus Lee and Skai Labissisere. Skai and Lee will leave for the NBA. They only have one incoming big man so far and Cage is one a the three 4s with offers. Looking at the numbers, they will need big bodies to reload. They are hoping to get Giles and Maker. I don't think either is going to UK. The current and only incoming PF committed is 2-star Tai Wynyard from the New Zealand national team. UK has 4 front court players (C, PF, SF) for the 2015-2016 season. That's going to change.

The top remaining C/PF are Giles , Maker and Bolden . Then a variety of guys . Then it all depends on how many guys Kentucky thinks it wants to have for 2016 , or hold off for 2017 . They are a player for most guys they want , will continue to have guys that go there and then get drafted by the NBA . One week end down and two more full weeks of evaluations what players produce and what guys have difficulties . Kansas coaches will be back also and in the mix.

Rivals has the former New Zealand National U 16 team player a 4 star . 6'9" 230 lbs. solid player near the basket , but not flashy . He is doing well at the AAU events. Most important the Kentucky coach scouted and selected him .

When Calipari was interviewed recently he said he thought his 2016 class was shaping up to be his best recruiting class ever. He can't mention names, but few list Cage as one of their primary targets.
Really think it comes down to SDSU & Arizona.

I saw Cage play in AAU game this past weekend. He is not flashy but is really a solid player. He does everything well (rebounds, scores, plays defense). I saw SDSU and Arizona coaches watching. I didn't see any Kentucky coaches at the game. I think it comes down to SDSU or Arizona.
