Buddah Jones reminds me of a younger skinnier DeShawn Stephens. I liked how DS played so I would definitely take that agaim if BJ can develop into DS at the least.

Not sure if USC was in the mix for Cage, but they landed 2 bigs for 2015, and they just landed another 6'10" kid for 2016.

Yes USC added 6'10' Harrison Henderson , 3 star recruit from Texas area. So they have 3 young guys to share the front court positions. Plus Aaron- SF/SG, is red shirting this year so will be added for 2016. So does it top Bland from trying to recruit Cage do not know . Did see that UCLA was also in the mix for Cage .

Honestly I've lost a lot of enthusiasm on him, he doesn't play with a lot of passion for the game.

I read the same from a couple sites. Hope we get him though as we missed out on Collins. We need to reload the front court and he seems to lead a short list of candidates.

Even if he isn't the top 30 recruit that we thought he'd be, he'd still be a great addition who I'd be very excited to get. We've never had a top 100 big guy that I can recall right out of high school, and if we get him we might have 2 top 100 big guys in 1 year. Our frontcourt would be formidable to say the least

Having said that, I completely agree with the 2 posters above... when I watched the state championship game... I saw a young man that didn't really seem interested in playing basketball. Maybe he just shows even less emotion that Kawhi, but I saw a young man that looked like he plays basketball only because he is expected to (6'9" tall and the son of an NBA player).

Still want Kone just as badly. He wants to play. I like Kone as well, but what little I've seen of Stanback I REALLY like his upside. Athletic; high motor. Thought I read somewhere where he & Cage went head to head this week & Stanback outplayed him. Cage was something like 8 & 11, while Stanback was 12, 11 & 6 (blocks). Obviously their role on their team defines their role, but thought that spoke to Stanback's quality of play to at least some degree.
I'd take any of these 3, including Cage, but to me Cage isn't a "must". Anyone who can defend the paint and grab boards would be fine.
With Zylan, Jones & Narain we won't be empty handed in 2016, but 1-2 more bigs would be nice.

Some times the C/5 and PF/4. Take time to develop , especially some of them who do not always play against top competition their own size during the season . Especially those who could be rated about 25- 100 . 2015 recruit B. Jones has been up and down ,similar to a roller coaster . We have recruited some tall quality HS forwards Pope , Shepard , K. Leonard ,! Zylan , Narain ? but not had the best record getting the HS guy who likes to play in the middle and score . Spencer , who is an excellent defender , is also a very good player , can he really kick it up this year on offense , we will see . Would really help the team this year and recruiting going forward.
We are expecting a lot from forward Zylan PF/SF and we will see about Jones , can he play the 5 , big need for 2016. So as of today they are guys we trust will develop. Zylan ,red shirted so should know the system and be ready for valuable PT this year. Believe both are attending at least 1 summer school practice sessions. Great potential but neither guy has played a minute of college ball . Coaches should know more after summer school .
This is " evaluating time " . Then lining up the important official visits for Open recruiting Time: September - October ,( about 3 months out) up to early signing time second week of November . About 5 months away . To me we have 9 scholarships accounted for if Malik leaves , maybe 2 or 3 to add and hold 1 or 2 for possible transfers , depending on the quality of the recruits we can sign , quality over quantity .
Wish list is fine , Humphries ( maybe not currently on his list but is Narain's team mate , so we can hope ) , Cage , Stanback , Kone or .... but more important is who can the staff actually sign . Another high quality need is recruit Bailey a SF/SG .

If any one attends , give us some insight into the players and if you observe any coaches up there , especially the staff from SDSU. If this is evaluation period , a coach may only observe not talk with recruits in person.

Now, he did attend the Lebron James Skills Academy and impressed a lot of people. Maybe that is where you are getting mixed up and confused. Yes, there are probably many articles out there with both of their names in the same sentence, but it is just mentioning that he attending the Lebron James skills competition.
