Great news that they are fighting for us, adding to our leverage in all cases. The MWC is pushing too, much to the dismay of dozens of rebel trolls... Leverage is nice.

Even though its driving me crazy - I like that fact that you're not hearing a lot from our side and that we appear to be taking our time to make a decsion.

will you be committed if your BE western all-sport division never forms?

The fact that they're pursuing Tulsa says that they really don't care if SDSU goes.

My impression is that Tulsa has been pretty solid for years and would be a good addition. With the money the BE has if they could guarantee some of these teams (like us) a couple million a year until things stabilize then I think the BE might be our best option. And, I think, the BE may be considering something along those lines. Basketball can thrive as long as we can attract good coaching. Other programs have shown that.

The fact that they're pursuing Tulsa says that they really don't care if SDSU goes. ..Sent from my GS3.. It does? Why? A) Because Tulsa, OK isn't anywhere near SDSU B) Tulsa would likely be in the "Western" Division of the Big East C) That leaves one less spot in the Big East for a Western Team. D) If the Big East really wants SDSU, they'd attempt to form an "all-sports" division with teams somewhat near to them. If they don't want SDSU, they add teams like Tulsa, and force SDSU to split their teams into two conferences.

We will see. I like they are pushing for us. Now is a Jersey Guy a homer for the BE? and why does CBS not report anything regarding the Aztecs and BE?

The true western teams aren't going to jump until things settle and we get some TV numbers. I'm not a big fan of Tulsa but we need another school for 12 and they are the best of a lot of bad choices and are the furthest west of the bad choices. UMass, Southern Miss, etc, would be signs that they don't care about SDSU.

Interesting that they target another private school. Tulsa usually has solid football though, and decent enough basketball to be acceptable for everyone.

I hope that they discuss the vision for the BE at the meeting in Dallas this weekend. It seems like they're going to leave SDSU as FB only. If so, we should make a push for FSU as a football only member of BE, other sports BW. This would "balance" the 2 FB only schools in the east, ECU and Navy, and leave an 8 team all sports BE. Not my first choice, but maybe the SDSU administration wants to stay in the BW? FSU would be a good fit for the BW and would increase the level of competition in that league. We would then have a partnership much like SMU and Houston. We may be "stuck" in the BE/BW combination for a while, so we should do what we can to bolster both leagues.

Do I remember correctly that back in the days when we had M. Faulk Tulsa beat us without too much difficulty in one of our very rare bowl appearances? And I believe they did fairly well this year. Any idea that Tulsa isn't a pretty good opponent for the Aztecs seems absurd to me. UMass would be a bad addition to the BE. Tulsa isn't Boise State at the moment, but neither are we despite the fact that we had a great win against them this year. And as to the fact that we need another "western" team, who says so? I don't consider Boise a western team anyway. Anything east of of the California border isn't west as far as I am concerned.

A supposedly connected Houston guy on the BE board mentioned that ESPN has gotten involved with respect to having 2-4 SDSU games on ESPN2/ESPNU in the 11PM EST time slot.
That meshes with the jerseyguy reporting Aresco talking about ESPN getting involved. That might be part if the Hail Mary we're going to hear from the BE on Friday.

Is this ESPN ensuring they get the rights to our BB because we end up in the BW for BB if we stay in the BE for FB? If so it's a good sign.
