The article by Brian Murphy suggests that Boise is not cannibalizing the existing tv deal but allowing each individual school to take the lion's share of revenues of those games that are televised nationally. My interpretation is that Boise felt they would likely be on national tv a lot more than most other teams so why should they share in that incremental revenue when they (Boise) were responsible for generating it in the first place? That provision applies to all of the schools in the MWC so it's not just Boise who benefits if they get on national tv. However, what constitutes "national tv" ?? Is that ESPN or NBCSN or CBSSN or ? Without knowing the details, Boise's decision on returning to the MWC was based on allowing Boise to keep those revenues that they thought they could generate by being on national tv........and not eroding the existing tv revenues that existing MWC members share. In other words, Boise will NOT share revenues in national tv games that they participate in.....but that provision also applies to the remaining teams in the MWC which probably won't appear on national tv. From Boise's perspective, Kustra felt "why share in money that the MWC would not have generated anyway except for Boise being on national tv"? On the surface, it does not strike me as an unfair deal for anyone in the MWC. The fine print of the excess inventory caveat says the games broadcast on ESPN and those on NBC/ABC "over the air" networks will generate a bonus payment... Those "over the air" are the main network channels (old VHF), not their cable sports networks. So NBC Sports, CBS college Sports, etc games will NOT/NOT generate a bonus payment from my understanding. Dave L may be able to confirm that. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

so if we play BSU in one of their advantage games - they get 50% of the TV money and SDSU or any other conference team gets 1/11 of the remaining 50% (if there are 12 teams and we divide the money equally, per BSU /MW rules . So if there was 1 million pay out for a game,BSU gets $500,000 and other conference teams get $45,455. After 4 games BSU 2 million and SDSU $181,818.

No, all teams are eligible for the bonus, so if you play BSU on national tv, both teams get 300k/500k and MWC splits the rest if there is any.

And your home games are protected by cbs, so I guess whichever division Boise is in, those guys get 300/500k every other year, the other division, every 4th year. Going to be great when teams start arguing over why they have a thursday game (and on short rest) and team X has a saturday game making 200k more. But, I'm scared of my shadow according to Naive Toit University
