Why wouldn't they? I mean, c'mon, we were a member of the MWC when we beat Gonzaga and they became fans Yeah, they were getting nostalgic over the old days with that Kahwi guy. Way back when. Who's Kawi, is a friend of Shepard's? Didn't see him on the court was too busy angling for the snap dragon snuggie.

Can someone explain the "T-shirt" basketball thing to me and what I means, I know it implies that they are new fans that only care basketball and want to stay MWC, but I wear a t-shirt when I go to the basketball games... does that make a t-shirt fan? lol

My initial reaction is that an older image file is being used for some unintentional reason, and not as a harbinger of any potential MW or BE announcement. Can't say "harbinger" here. Most BWC fans lurking here won't understand and CSUN guys older than 30 will think you're referring to Rodney on the ROQ.

This just in. You're not a real fan unless you want aztecs in the big east. there are about 4 dikcheads on the board who sure think so. pretty sure they all rode the bench for a couple of our 2-10 football seasons.

This just in. You're not a real fan unless you want aztecs in the big east. That isn't the point. The issue is survival at this point. A fair number of Hoops First fans aren't grasping that. No one has shown or tracked the actual amount that the MWC will pay the non BSU schools per year to play in the conference while Thompson and the rockies/front range presidents expand the league to remora. All that and a contract that gives the media owner the option to extend the contract until 2020. California is in a fiscal crisis. We had to furlough employees and we fired about a third of our coaches 2 years ago. We got a reprieve last year, not from increased revenue as much as it was from Ron Fowler to keep Brady Hoke here. That money was never fully matched last I saw. After it runs out, we will be back in dire straights. You can forget about the basketball practice facility that is planned. We won't be able to afford good coaches either. Back to second fiddle to a rockies school that is calling the shots. I could go on but you get the picture.

All I remember is there was some big banner showing the Big West and Big West showing something like "The only team big enough for the Big East and Big West". Apparently we've experienced some shrinkageSpot on. Impotence it is.

A) this california fiscal crisis nonsense is a result of political beliefs. doomsday socialism bitching has a 0.89 correlation to thinking our department is going to suddenly fold. we've got at least 10 years of athletic funding after san jose folds up, so until then just shut up about something that probably won't happen. B) all you armchair analysts talking about tv deals for 6 hours a day haven't once been contacted by any athletic department or conference, so stop acting all high and mighty like you know $hit the rest of us don't, because you don't.

I resent your characterization of basketball fans as brand new fans Sent from my ADR6300 using proboards I resent resentment and T-Shirt fans. I am going to love being in Laramie watching the Tshirt fans rocking this T Wait, you mean they aren't going to be taking the 3 hour flight and 2 hour bus ride on black ice through mountain switch backs? Then I will catch them in a baker's dozen T like this in San Jose.... What you mean they aren't going to be in SJ doubling the attendance? Then we will rock Cache valley together wearing our Simpsons Choo Choo shirts. What I got to go alone, the Tshirt fans aren't making the 14 hour drive one way? We will always have the Halloween blow out in the student section for football and our snap dragon snuggies. Who are "t-shirt fans" and why?

That the logo is gone, its just a logo A website is a brand. No one changes his website without a purpose. I dont disagree, but the purpose could be for numerous reasons

So, what is your great deal with the BE? Oh, that's right you don't have one. You want to play your closest BE game 2000 miles away in Texas so be it. Just don't be surprised if Houston and SMU are in the MWC down the road. Not to mention throwing away your hoops program. I'm sure no matter what is said publicly that Fisher is very happy they may stay in the MWC. If your current deal was so good your administration would have already said no thanks to the MWC and said they were staying, but they didn't. The bottom line is you took a gamble and you lost. Ya, we can drive 6 hours to Sam Boyd and see how people suffered through the dust bowl era in the parking lot and then get treated to one of the Typical and predictably terrible UNLV football team. Ya. Or you can fly 4 hours to Memphis, if you can get a direct flight, and play an equally horrible team. Or Tulane. Don't forget your great road trips in hoops to Fullerton, Riverside etc. You're right. What a great deal.

They have smart things to say just because they have family on a team. ..and as an addendum, the only person here i know is a family member (miners) doesn't really sit here and bitch about tv contracts all day.

You are right, can't wait to fly three hours to land in Denver and then pray to make it to Laramie or Ft. Collins via bus. Or the flight into SLC and then bus ride to cache valley. I wouldn't worry about getting a direct flight to Memphis, it isn't a 1 cow town out on the range. Who would pass that up over New Orleans or Memphis.

Back to your tough language and an admonition to shut up. I must be hitting a nerve. So, tell me the transparent reality of our funding crisis. You think that California is in stable fiscal shape? Really? They've already choked LBSU and SJSU (who is fighting for their existence) and SDSU can't go on with this pittance for long. I noticed you reveled earlier in the possibility of SDSU football dying. Why? It is revealing. You certainly don't seem to care about every other sport in the department, other than mens basketball. I actually do. How much will the MWC actually pay us each year? Tell me! You can't because they won't put it out there. No need to get rude, by the way. Sorry you don't like hearing the truth.
