While I think SDSU will be going back to the MWC the logo change means dick. Premature sadness and joy around.

Curious: if the rumor of the day (that BYU, Houston and SDSU are the final three ads) comes to fruition... However a long shot that is... will you still be so inconsolable at the prospect of not going to the Big East?
Also do you really think your admin will make conference alignment decisions based on basketball series with Cincy, Memphis, Temple and Uconn? Didn't you just play UCLA, Arizona and Syracuse this season while in the MW?

I kind of wonder whether this is absolutely nothing. I mean I hardly think the first thing they would do before issuing a press release is remove a silly banner from a website.

All I remember is there was some big banner showing the Big West and Big West showing something like "The only team big enough for the Big East and Big West".

Yea, like DU is going to pay your sorry asses to play in the Big Lots. UCSD students don't know what basketball is. It's down to Bakersfield or maybe Dominguez Hills or Cal State LA can join. You've got one Cal Poly, how about the other? DU supposedly offered to pay travel subs to the WCC. They'd do the same for us. DU is going to the Summit League but they are a western institution and would join us tomorrow if asked. BWL is a good match for them. funny you mention Cal State LA. They, like you, were a charter member of the conference.

You don't understand the tv deal. The revenue from the sale of Boise's home games go back to the MWC to be split amongst ALL the MWC schools. The bonus structure also applies to EVERY MWC school. 2. No one would pay extra for only SDSU home games. You guys can't even get fans to show up for a bowl game and you think you are worthy of selling your rights outside the MWC deal?

It's YOU who doesn't understand the contract. Boise has a built in advantage to getting games on bonus networks since they can't be chosen by CBS Sports. If we have to be stuck to the deal like the rest of you idiots our best games will be snatched up by CBS sports and we won't see any bonuses. Then let us do it if we aren't worth anything. What does it hurt you guys?

Also do you really think your admin will make conference alignment decisions based on basketball series with Cincy, Memphis, Temple and Uconn? Didn't you just play UCLA, Arizona and Syracuse this season while in the MW? We would be forced to go to the MWC because they would have picked off most of the best of the west. The problem remains the stupid concessions made to one school that further degrades the revenue for all other schools and too many new mouths to feed. It will put into motion another airport meeting in a couple years because this structure cannot be sustained in our precarious economic environment and the imbalance of funding to Boise. We would have to somehow trigger either a purge of remora or somehow complete revamping of the media contract which is nearly impossible. We can't afford to stay in the MWC and I fear the money people think was promised will not materialize. I also think that you won't see the Texas schools without a transparent accounting for income from the media contract. Thompson needs to show us what we will receive. I can't believe so many are ignoring this issue and willing to go along with the guy that has totally screwed up the conference to a point it lost the entire upper echelon of the league due to the monumental, colossal failure of a media contract that he has now extended twice! Think!

Gotta say this too. Houston has gone insane. Nothing like being at least 1,000 miles from everybody else in a conference which has a lousy TV deal. WTF? Seems like kind of a no-brainer to me. The MWC offers the top two programs outside the top 5 conferences and considerable stability. Meanwhile, the nBE offers a level of instability that is only exceeded by its level of incompetence. This little war was theirs to lose and somehow they managed to lose it. Houston wants to play with the best rather than risk being stuck in a conference that loses its top schools and ends up as another C-USA. Yoda out... .

I would take UCLA, AZ, USC plus the MWC vs Those 4 teams and the Big West Conference. The Big west was ranked 20th in RP! last year, come on. You can still play UCLA, AZ, SC and add in Temple, Cinci, Uconn, or Memphis. AFA, SJSU, Nevada, Wyoming, CSU, Fresno, Boise, and USU are that much better than UCSB, LBSU, etc. I don't think so. Its funny and rather convenient that you stopped at ucsb and lbsu. Regardless, I would take all those schools minus airforce and sjsu over any big west school.

And the reverse can be said about MWC teams in football compared to BE teams, and football is significantly more valuable than basketball.

You are the one that was making the comparison, Big Lots
