Woot woot!!! If Fisher likes him, I like him. Great size and ability to drive to the hoop. Let's hope that turns into a lot of collapsed D's.

Williams is considered a well-above average defender, and by some, one of the top defenders (for his position) in the Class of 2013. His addition, coupled with that of Dakarai Allen, on top of Fr. Winston Shepard and Skylar Spencer, have the makings of an elite defensive and transition squad ('13-'14).

I think we can officially put to rest the fallacy that moving to the Big West was going to kill recruiting now. Love the Sactown pipeline too! 6'4" super athletic, pass first point guard with handles...wow, he may end up to be the best of the recent recruiting crop. He's under the radar a bit, but will blow up when Sheldon makes their run for the state championship.

This is awesome and IMO can only help us in our pursuit of Hamilton as we continue to build the pieces that would compliment his skill set perfectly. He also will learn for a year behind a similar bigger PG in X.

I think we can officially put to rest the fallacy that moving to the Big West was going to kill recruiting now. C'mon, you know they'll just come up with another excuse (e.g. recruiting may not suffer now but it definitely will in the future). Haters love to hate. ..Sent from my Samsung GS3..

There's a sports writer from the Sacramentoi Bee (name escapes me) whom counts Williams as the best area PG in the last 10+ years. I'm not up to speed on the writer's level of expertise, but he's certainly a fan of Williams.

I'm not up to speed on the writer's level of expertise, but he's certainly a fan of Williams. Really? If true, that's saying alot considering Josiah Turner (Chase Tapley's HS teammate) was rated as a top 2 or 3 point guard in the country, with offers from all the top programs. rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Josiah-Turner-88699(BTW, turns out Turner was a head case and he got booted from UofA. A few weeks ago he quit pro ball oversees and it looks like he will declare for the 2013 NBA draft.) EDIT: Found it. Joe Davidson from the Sac Bee: twitter.com/SacBee_JoeD"SacBee basketball Player of Year D'Erryl Williams of Sheldon commits to San Diego State. Will join Sheldon teammate Dakarai Allen w Aztecs" [Note: Chase Tapley was the 2007-2008 Sac Bee POY] Q. "one of the best guards youve seen since 1988, right?" A. "absolutely one of the very best prep guards I have covered - D'Erryl Williams."

Also, consider that he will have built in chemistry with Dakarai Allen when they come to SDSU next year. Not only will they play together at Sheldon this year, but have been playing together since the 7th grade.

I am impressed watching his videos. More impressive was reading his high school coach say he is a 4.0 student. That shows a lot of drive.

Sounds like Isaac Hamilton won't be committing anywhere until January. Hopefully he takes in a couple of Aztecs home games.

Great tape on Rivals. This kid is legit! And a great student. He puts the student in student-athlete.
Welcome to SDSU!

I love that Fisher is getting all these great defensive players. The biggest need left would be a pure scorer (Hamilton would fulfill that) or 2. Someone that can hit the shot when we need it (I'm assuming Jamaal will be NBA bound).

I think we can officially put to rest the fallacy that moving to the Big West was going to kill recruiting now. I thought Dakarai Allen was a great start, but landing one 4 star recruit and one 2/3 star recruit (that is said 4 star recruit's teammate, no less) is in no way saying recruiting hasn't been hurt by the Big West move.
