Per Scott Sommer from Scout: Pomona (Calif.) linebacker Azeem Victor has committed to San Diego State. He's 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds.

Cool. I haven't seen any film on him yet, but he looks like another monster rush backer for us.

Another IE (close enough) player for the Aztecs! Keep the pipeline flowing. Welcome Azeem!

Read an article saying they just opened up his recruitment and just started sending out film. AND he plays on a s#!++y team, just transfered schools and is playing out of position. He's getting looks from the Pac 12, sorry the ASU didn't offer him their GED sholly, THAT would make him an all-american, right?

The reality is that these are the types of recruits that SDSU has to take commits from. We are building a Big East team with sleepers guys with low mid-major offers, if any. The Latu's commit elsewhere and this was the backup plan.

Dan Kottman was a 2* with only an offer from Rice and he is getting a lot of playing time as a true frosh. Largeant was a JC transfer with no real recruitment at all and he is the second best guy on our defense. Just because these guys aren't getting looks from big time schools, doesn't mean they can't play. Hell, we got 6 guys into the NFL last year and they were all "marginal" HS recruits by most standards. Escobar and McFadden will be no different next year. Let the recruiters recruit, coaches coach and the players play.

A 245 pound true freshman is getting playing time at nose, when he should have been redshirted. It is great when guys like Escobar and McFadden have success, but you cannot build a team with these types of guys. We are not in the MWC anymore.

Aw, the ASU douche is back to tell us how we should recruit more like ASU, what with all of their championships and such...

Aw, the ASU douche is back to tell us how we should recruit more like ASU, what with all of their championships and such... LOL, you are funny. There was no mention of ASU, besides the fact that an ASU offer doesn't matter. Also pretty funny that you still use douche as an insult.

They were sleepers that you HOPE panned out, which they did. For every McFadden, you have 5 Osmond Nicholas or Colton Morrison's.

They were sleepers that you HOPE panned out, which they did. For every McFadden, you have 5 Osmond Nicholas or Colton Morrison's. well so far ESPN grades out our class pretty well. 8 of the guys are rated 3* and one guy is a 2*. The rest have NR but some of them will assuredly be 3* guys like Isaac Braxton and Delvin Batiste. As these kids go through their senior seasons, there will be adjustments to their rankings. DJ Pumphrey for example is rated extremely low compared to the gaudy stats he puts up in a decent football area. I think only ESPN has given him 3* and its a low 3* at that. His ratings will be adjusted by all the services. Judging past classes is fine but please wait until after these kids senior seasons are finished and their ratings updated to make any absolute judgements on them.
