our runningbacks are not average they Are pretty good. Muema can take it to the house did people forget the Boise state game already. Kazee is much more concistent than Hillman. Katz ad a tremendous dimesion wiht his ability to run as well as he does. He is over 60 percent with several drops. The main issue is the oline continuing to get better. Defense well we are great against the option vcouting Utah state we have won seven games in a row.
SJS oline is about 6'4 289 per man. Not bad but not giant either. Fale is an excellent QB as a passer he can not run much minus 31 yards. I I doubt he has seen anything like the 3-3-5. So we might get a turnover or two. If he has time he will complete 70% of his passes and we will have to score 50 points to win.Of corse if we continue to play flag football tackling he might look like Steve Young. They have fur down lineman a ruch end who is quick about 240 the other srong side end 26 inside guys about 280. Hard to judge them UC Davis,a terrible CSU and aa fits fist game Stanford without much scoring power. Good defens though. In osmew ways it is like out team, played otugh aginst Washington, Played good aginst a wseak Army. Played horrible defense against UND. Only penalty kept us form scoring two moe TDs. I htink ther offens eis for real so maybe 45 to 30 if we do nto make to mnay mistakes, I could asee SJSU winning this if the pass rush is awfull and they establish the run by the pass. I just do nto kow hwo good SJSU is yet. Us yes we are a very good offense and a fairly poor defense. Good special teams except filed goal kicking let the Irishman try)

I'm sure Rocky won't let the D play that way again this week.

Highlights of San Jose State vs Colorado State. Looks as though we are pretty even to them. Its going to go down to the wire i'd assume. youtu.be/q8ft4ybWSgg?hd=1

It won't be easy, but we should win by two scores.

Entering last week, I thought we'd win by 10. Now, I'm not sure we win at all. Depends on which D shows up for us.

It won't be easy, but we should win by two scores. I agree with ZumaJames...I think SDSU will win by two scores. Except I am predicting that those scores will be a safety and an extra point.

I think ND was a match up problem for our D and this SJST team is as pass happy as ND is. Hopefully Long can tweek the defense or SJ will be putting up a lot of points and their defense is better than ND's. I'm hoping for a W and that our big players make plays. Would like to see more of Denso and Vizzi involved.

Ronnie Hillman was simply better, from A to Z.

After we run this thread to nine pages and come to some understanding about who will win, are we still playing the game?
SDSU is favored and will cover!

We will be fine and we'll handle San Jose State. Don't overreact over one game. While disappointed with the defense's performance, the outcome was never in doubt. 4th and a foot is doubt

The last time we played these guys, they smoked us like I smoke a 6 foot bong. I realize Chuck 4th and Long is no longer our coach, but they beat us by 25. So I'm not quite sure of "we've come down to this" being accurate.

I think you are underestimating the SJSU defense. Why go negative? I'm leaning to a W because the Spartans won't be able to stop us. We're going to go up and down the field and score. Rocky will fix what needs to be fixed and we'll play like we did for most of the Washington game. Go Aztecs!

SJSU Offensive Line LT Quessenberry (6'6" 295) SR (Outland Trophy Candidate-Returning All-WAC) LG Jones (6'4" 298) Jr C Hasani (6'3" 285) Jr RG Kaspar (6'4" 285) Jr (Returning All-WAC 2nd team) RT Meyer (6'5" 285) Jr (RS JC All-American) TE Ryan Otten (6'6" 245) Sr. (Returning All-WAC/John Mackey Candidate/Pre-season All-American) TE Tuitupuo (6'5" 245)Sr TE Lorius (6'5" 250) Jr Coach Mac likes them tall and mobile. Fales is actually very mobile (watch the Stanford highlites) and has not needed to run much yet this season. Remember, he was recruited by Ault to play the Pistol at Nevada. The Spartans also have their "wildcat" QB (Blake Jurich, 6'4" 235) and he has scored 3 TD's this season. Two running (one vs. Stanford) and one passing. The Spartans front 7 on defense is stout and deep. Here are the starters. DE Tuitupuo (6'5" 260) Sr DT Larceval (6'3" 285) Jr DT Raciti (6'5" 290) So (Frosh All-American/Pre-season All-WAC) DE Johnson (6'3" 245) Sr (WAC pre-season Defensive POY/pre-season All-American) LB Muava (6'0" 235) So LB Buhagiar (6'4" 240) Jr (Frosh All-American/Pre-season All-WAC) LB Smith (6'1" 230) Jr (Frosh All-American)/Returning All-WAC) You will also see these guys rotate in on DL. Catalano (6'4" 275) R Fr Vae (6'3' 280) So Popovich (6'2" 275) R Fr Bacon (6'3" 230) So our runningbacks are not average they Are pretty good. Since SJSU wen't to a bowl in 2006, the Spartans were bowl eligible once (2008) and have had two really bad seasons ('09-'10) when they were playing with only 65-70 scholarships because of APR problems inherited from the early 2000's. Coach Tomey played undermanned and beat SDSU a couple times. Coach Mac came on in 2010 and has had three recruiting classes and two with a full 85 scholies ('11-'12). His 2010 team played a bunch of freshman and now those guys are Jr's or R Soph's. Five of them were Freshman All-American's. In 2011, SJSU beat Fresno State (road), Hawaii, Navy, CSU(road), NMSU, and lost by 3 to Nevada, by 1 to Utah State(road), and were tied with UCLA in the fourth quarter in the Rose Bowl before losing by 7. This is going to be a good game. Both teams are pre-season probable bowl teams. I am coming down to SD and looking forward to it. Say what you wll, but home teams are given -3 off the bat. So it's basically an even up game. Pretty sad that we've come down to this. It's not like we were all-mighty Alabama or USC. The last time we played these guys, they smoked us like I smoke a 6 foot bong. I realize Chuck 4th and Long is no longer our coach, but they beat us by 25. Just a quick question?
With the mighty strength that which is the current WAC, shouldn't the Spartans have more All-WAC 1st team players?
Sorry, but 1st team All-WAC is not much to brag about.

I think San Jose St leads the all time head to VS SDSU. Though this is true, its a bit misleading. If my grandfather had been a student at SDSU in the '30s and an alum in the '40s and '50s, he would've been a pretty frustrated fellow. However, until Mr. Long gave SJSU its little 2 game winning streak in '06 and '08, the Aztes were 13-3 vs. SJSU since helmets went from leather to hard plastic, and 10-2 in the D-1 era. Overall record is 15-18-2, SJSU. mcubed.net/ncaaf/series/sdst/sjst.shtml

Well John, some of us felt Rocky was questionable the day Sterk flinched and hired him in a panic. Sterk may have had no other choice, but I'd like to think he had feelers out (legally) beginning in November or earlier, when RichRod was on the ropes. Hopefully, he introduced himself to the ND's coach Chris Mussman. And I can't recall, were any of the names released who were back-ups to Hoke? Where are they now? Rocky wasn't hired in a panic. In fact, it was virtually an open secret that if Michigan offered Hoke that Rocky and Sterk had an agreement that Rocky would take over. That agreement allowed us to retain ever single one of our recruits so I have no problem with it. As it is, I remain on the fence about Rocky. Maybe UND is a good FCS team as others have said and as it appeared. However, about all that means is they are as good as a bad FBS team yet we only beat them by a TD. And it's not just that. It's the WAY they stayed in the game. Zero pass rush by us despite considerable blitzing and miserable pass coverage except for McFadden. I'm sure we're capable of playing much better and fully expect us to against SJSU. And we sure better or Saturday's game will be a loss.
