You'd think if two other 3rd down sound effects had failed the prior two seasons, that maybe the solution isn't to find a different sound.

Was that "Hey", or did you mean "Haaaay"? I think it depends on if you're on top or bottom. What you do is none of my business.

It was actually more annoying than "This is where we make our stand" And it seemed to fire up the other team! Every time the PA announcer said it they went and converted a big 3rd down! EVERY TIME! It became a pathetic joke and he stopped in the 4th quarter. It doesn't work. It sounds BUSH LEAGUE. It sounds small time. It really is pathetic. They got lucky on the whole, "And that's another Aztec... FIRST DOWN," thing, but after that whole, "This is where we stand," cheese fest that went down like a lead balloon they should have known better. I hope that it doesn't show up during the next game. It got really annoying and was totally pathetic as the other team kept getting first downs. It made the Aztecs look like a joke.

The "fear the spear" on the pa is about as disturbing as the homophobia.

I agree with the majority of you who said it's embarrasing. Just call the damn game like an announcer for a real team would do. I'm assuming we're a real team, not some arena league reject.

Almost the definition of bush league/small time.
Please, please don't do that anymore.

The fear the spear on the pa on 3rd downs was absolutely ridiculous. Just because it is this year's marketing pitch does not mean it has to be yelled out. Cmon guys. It is stupid and boring.

It was mildly annoying and cheesy the first time. With each subsequent reading it beame exponentially more annoying and lame. It reached critical mass sometime in the late 3rd quarter or early 4th quarter when fans started (loudly) mocking the new attempted catch phrase, at which point the PA announcer (thankfully) stopped reading that line. It didn't work, and no other attempted catchphrase like that will work. We don't need a catchphrase to get people into the game on a big 3rd down. We just need a team that actually CAN stop the other team on those plays more often than not.

Really? THIS is what you guys choose to get riled up about? We've already established that the defense wasn't worth two shits tonight in other threads. Let them focus their anger on something else other than the team.

Really? THIS is what you guys choose to get riled up about? After all the lame things that the athletic department's marketing guys have implemented and tried to implement (including lame stuff on the PA, both recorded and live by the announcer) most Aztec fans have a short fuse and little patience for this kind of bush league stuff.

What I don't like is the really loud piped in music before the game. it is crap and so loud you can't even have a conversation.

Listening on the radio the phrase had me shaking my head after the second time.
Could hear Uprising loud and clear though which was cool.

What is really crazy is someone thought it was a good idea! After hearing it one time, I thought ok, don't play that again, but some decided that was cool? Wow!
