UW fan here. Predictions, thoughts on the game?
From a UW fan's view on our team:
?'s for this years team: OL: How will the mesh, and gel. Defense: Will be GREATLY improved over last years. Wilcox was a beast at UT in the SEC and Wilcox and Co. should save us roughly 100 more yards PG on D. RB: we have very good backs and even with the Polk loss will still pick up right where we left off with our backfield.
Strengths: WR, QB, TE. LOADED at WR. QB: Price, Brown, Jeff and Cyler all pac12 ready qbs. Then TE with michael Harkvickson and the guy who should and will be an all american this year ASJ.
Biggest addition this year will be on defense IMO. Adding the nations top safety in Shaq Thompson. He will play either SS or a hybrid LB. Then will also get some touches as a back on O or as a decoy.
With Keith Price healthy and hearing SDSU send key guys from last years team (i think) to the nfl. I have UW by 14-24.
Thoughts?
Cheers!

There's a couple of big ol' threads on here about that game already. Somebody will link you to them very quickly, I'm sure.

My thought on the game is it's going to be really strange seeing you guys play four quarterbacks. Four simultaneously? One each quarter? Two simultaneously the first half then the other two simultaneously the second half? Whatever you're going to do, it will be innovative, I'll give you that.

He is pretty small, but could end up like Denard where nobody can catch him!

One team can win and them have losing season the loser go on and win 10 games. You played poorly against eastern last year we played awful against army. Our defense will be improved as will our offense but in the first game maybe not The Same with the Huskies.Big improvements take agame or two to get everybody rolling. SO I hope it is agood game and compettive and your guys and ours learn improve, stay, healthy.

So everytime a Washington fan finds this board we are going to get a thread about our thoughts? Yes. Rather than finding an existing thread about the game and posting his thoughts there, UDub Newbie starts a new thread saying "We have a couple warts but we should otherwise be God's gift to college football this year and here's why. Do you guys have any reason to make us think the game might be competitive (not that you'll actually win or anything)?" Then us peons are supposed to try to convince him why it won't be a beatdown. It's the preferred order of things in the UW universe.

This is why hundreds of thousands of collegiate fans call them the pac-fudge conference...and I am sure the TV announcers, officiating crew, and whatever gets to run the football game production will only have words to say about the huskers. BCS team versus a non-bcs team, paid for in advance, delivered and rammed down your throats.
There are five times more non-bcs football programs west of Kneebrashka and this means the arrogant uDub huskers are five times more hated plus the City of Pullmyfingerman...

UW fan here. Predictions, thoughts on the game? Cheers! I predict that I will be there after a 7 day cruise to Alaska, see good friends I haven't seen, and enjoy a game that will be closer than the spread. Who wins will be the winner of the intangibles with a nod to the local squad who are near home and don't have to travel as far. Which coach gets his team prepared and more ready for an opening game will be a huge factor with our other factors being QB/Receiver comfort and DL pressure.

Seems like the spread is going up too, by mid August, so 4 or 5 Washington threads from now, they are going to be beating us by 50 because they are magically now great

I just hope the UW players and coaches think the same thing as their fans. They have a killer schedule and hopefully they will looking past that patsy, SDSU, so they can play some real football teams.
