never heard Wilcox say he will run a 4-2-5 but he did say his defense will be a base 4-3 with 3-4 packages and looks.

He could throw it in there somewhere, but Udub is stockpiling a lot of linebackers, so not sure the 4-2-5 is a likely focus for the defense. But like I said, I wouldn't doubt it if he had a 4-2-5 look or package to confuse people once in awhile. Sark had this to say at Media Day:
Sarkisian said at Media Day an early goal of fall camp will be figuring out where everybody fits best.
"It's going to be a unique situation getting Jamora back,'' he said. "Where Josh fits with that. Andrew (Hudson) came on strong the second half of the season for us.''
Sarkisian said that's where the ability of the defense of new coordinator Justin Wilcox to feature a lot of looks should pay off in allowing for a lot of different alignments that will get all of the players who deserve playing time on the field.
"That's why the term hybrid is there,'' he said. "There will be times when we will look like a 4-3 defense and there will be moments where we look like we have a 3-4 defense in. That's kudos to Justin Wilcox, putting the guys in the best position to be successful.''

Damn. A Husky fan who didn't say "We're really, really good but one of our many studs has an ingrown toenail that might still be bothering him a month from now so we might only beat the Aztecs by 40 or so."
Thanks for having a clue and welcome, Mr. dawgpack.

SlimDawgMo posted this in the comments (used like a forum by dawg fans) section of Bob Condotta's blog on the SeattleTimes site:
I really think we are going to see times this year where there are 6-7 DB's on the field to combat the spread. I can see a Defense something like the Seahawks did the first year Pete Carroll was here. Both that Seahawk team and this Husky Team had big fast DB packages they can throw out there - specifically Safeties that can fill the gaps and get after the QB with their speed.
I see against the spead a "Speed package" with three big uglies in the trenches, Jamora and Shirly pushing the edge, then a combo of Tru / Glenn / Parker / Sample / Shaq / Fellner / Freeny / Beaver / etc. filling gaps, blitzing from anywhere, chipping receivers off routes.
This sounds like a package where you are giving up size, but look at the athletes and size of the DB's you can throw out there. It's almost like playing with 6LBs that can run!
Put Tru and Glenn on the speedy WR's - let the other 4 DB's cause havic all over the field. Wilcox solved the spread at Boise St... now he has better athletes to work with - I think his new packages might surprise some of us.
Well, I officially have no idea what Wilcox will do. He moved four safeties to linebacker this Spring, so maybe he will have some odd formations and packages.

UW will run sets on D to try and hide our weakness at LB. Safties on the other hand #strength. Two biggest weaknesses. LB and O line.
