If Butler can be 6 inches away from winning a national title, no reason why SDSU couldn't with this team. I realize it is very, very unlikely, but there is a chance.

I love the possibility but don't think it's time to get that far ahead of ourselves. Remember Wyoming last year? SH@t happens.

Actually I think those are great odds for SDSU. But something is wrong if SDSU is ranked # 7 but only 60-1 to win the whole thing.

That equates to a 1.666% chance of winning the title. A quick calc of our chances would show that is just about right based on a 3 seed in the tourney. I would actually say it may be a good bet based on my arbitrary projections: 95% to make the tourney If ranked as a 3 seed: 1st round, 3 vs 14: 75% win 2nd round, 3 v 6: 60% win sweet 16, 3 vs. 2: 35% win elite 8, 3 v 1: 30% win final four, 3 v 1: 25% win championship, 3 v 1: 20% win That would make a 2.2% chance at the national title. Maybe I will get out to Vegas.

My guess is we win the first and second round games and with "home" games at Anaheim, we're better than 50% to win those two games to get to the final four. So the best bet would be to get to the final four. Those odds should be about 10-1 but my guess is we have a better chance than 10-1.

Take the 60-1 now and lay it off after the second round.

Who's the buyer if you "lay it off" and what are those odds?

If you have a 60-1 ticket for $100 your payout would be 6K.
If they make the sweet sixteen then there odds will probably be somewhere between 16-1 to 24-1 so your ticket is worth around $300. I dont go all the way to Vegas to win $300 (of course you have to find a buyer or just make subsequent bets on all other remaining teams in the amount to make your roughly $300).

Finding a buyer is the problem...how do you even go about doing that?

From Dumb and Dumber...
Mary Swanson "I wouldn't date you if you were the last man in the world." LLoyd "So, you're saying there's a chance!...YES!"

The 60/1 odds were at the opening. It would be interesting to see if they have changed since they were released.
I am pretty sure you couldn't sell your ticket, if they made it to the sweet 16, to anyone other than a friend that wanted to buy it. If they were willing to do that they would buy it before the tourney.

IF we get that far, I will absolutely be there to root on our team and we need to pack the place with fans.
