It is a rare AAA post that doesn't contain the pejorative: " ...wing-nut..." Demonstrates a certain vacuousness in his ability to express his position intelligently. You bristle at "Wing-Nut" but have no problem with the use of "Lefist", "Marxist", "Communist", "Socialist", "Un-American", and "Traitor" when you and others reference anyone with a liberal, progressive, or centrist position. You guys continually amaze me. I most certainly have used the appellations "Leftist" and "Lib", but if you have any evidence of my posting the other pejorations, especially "un-american" and "traitor", I challenge you to produce such... ...didn't think so...

I am rooting for this president to win because if he does we all win.....
I am USA first and party second. That is the way it should be. He has had some recent wins but it will take a nation united to work through this mess.
I am just amazed with people like Sarah Palin who says Drill Baby Drill (with no regulations) just because it sounds good as a sound bite. The leaders of Brazil do drill but with more regulations then the USA and they do not have any oil damage to their shores. They do it in a fashion that Obama wants to do it. Reseach, make sure it is a sound decision, manage the possibilities of a problem and then implement.
It is hard to say that in three words or less....

Please provide a comparative analysis of Brazilian and US energy regulatory schemes or at least a thumbnail description of the way Brazil "does it". They still punch holes in the bottom of the ocean don't they? Also, please provide a cite for your assertion that Sarah Palin is FOR the deregulation of the oil industry. I think a fair minded read of her record as the Governor of Alaska would show the exact opposite.

That post is so naive at many different levels. do a search on "Oil Regulations Brazil" and you will find much more about protecting PetroBas or whatever the Brazil National Oil Company will be called than any environmental regulations. It is also silly to think that in real terms we are not all hoping that Obama can forge some sort of National Policy on not only oil, but policy in general that makes sense. That probably is a reach given the bunch of Chicago Thugs he has brought to Washington, but still a idea that would be embraced by all. I do note with pleasure that Obama is continuing the Bush policy about chasing down Osama and in some cases even going a bit farther. He has expanded of "Special Forces" presence from fifty some countries to chase down and kill terrorists to over seventy. There are some things that Obama has done correctly, but precious few.

Obama already presented an energy policy which included investment into green power, nuke and off shore drilling. I thought it was a pretty good plan. Investing in both old and new technologies. However if you only gt your news from Fox you may have not seen it.
Well, headed off to Beer Day at the A's game and then to go see Tom Petty next door. Oaktown rules! Plus the Aztecs play Cal in hoops next season here in the East Bay! At least we all have our love for our Aztecs in common!!

That is sort of changing the subject, but the plan is good as ar as it goes. Tihe problem is really getting something done. When will the first shovel turn dirt on our next Nuke Power Plant. Do you agree that bio fuel puts farm products in competetion with the food chain? I like sensible green power and see lots of progress, but we still will need oil for decades for fuel and forever for lots of other things.

Invest in Green: Check out this new "Green Silicon Valley" emerging in the Bay Area: www.betterplace.com/www.teslamotors.com/www.solyndra.com/All leading to new job creation in the Bay Area. These are the leaders but there are a lot of other start ups here due to investments made by Obama and Schwarzenegger. Too bad palin thinks this is a socialist program... Also, you were right about Palin and not wanting to regulate the oil companies. Actually I don't thnk she knows what regulation means. She will have to research that word. Here it is on a clip: Actually this is pretty funny!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xpb7z_PjbAsInteresting read on how nationalizing this oil monopoly helped Brazil become a world leader with hosting the soccer world cup and now the Olympics: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PetrobrasHave a good Sunday you all!

First, I agree that "green" energy is extremely important and I applaud every sensible step taken to advance truly green energy. Second, the investment is not by Obama or Arnold, but by Foreign companies like Toyota. Third, Brazil is rapidly developing for reasons other than nationalizing business. Fourth, your link to the bad Palin interview with Katy was senseless for everyone. Palin was ill prepared for an ambush but really very little damage was done. Who watches Couric? Not many!

Hmm.. the nasty sig imgs are par for the course on the politics boards. I don't care about them there.
I just don't think they are appropriate on the sports boards where people go to talk sports and don't want them tainted with partisan politics.
It's the mod's call, but I don't care if he reverses himself for the politics boards.

Funny! Now just think how much dumber Biden is in reality. Palin is never going to run again, but she is out there raising money by the bucket full to run the Dems out of town on a rail this November.

Too funny! I'm still waiting for the Democrat's predicted 15 minutes of fame for Palin to expire. As Don Harold said "There is nobody so irritating as somebody with less intelligence and more sense than we have." But it is ironic that this thread is about bashing the President and some in here inject Palin in that context. Someone doth protest too much. But back to the subject at hand. Obama is an articulate buffoon. Politcal Offices, Boardrooms and Universities are full of them. See Gov. Moonbeam and Pres. Carter for reference. Ever see Obama when his TelePrompter goes out? The endless string of the uhhs and ums are quite annoying. But he will remain the darling of the media and the clueless left, regardless of performance or lousy policies. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm1KOBMg1Y8He may even get re-elected, but if he does, he would be a six year lame duck. You want to know why? This is one of the many reasons: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJu0DgpiK8cAnd anyone complaining about Palin's intellect and suitability to serve who is also a supporter of Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden is a blatant hypocrite. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8At2Lch-m5cwww.youtube.com/watch?v=nxE33lfTi_Ywww.youtube.com/watch?v=0Jf17Yo7hBM

Are you saying that despite her efforts that Palin will not be a factor in the outcome of the Novemember elections? No matter what she sticks in her own bank account, she is raising money for Conservative candidates and that will be a factor come November. I thought about your comment on electing "Whackos" and after a certain amount of reflection, I thought that no matter how you define them, those "Whackos" are preferable to the liberals who are now in Congress.

She must be seen as some kind of threat on a pretty big scale to have liberals send a hack writer to live next door to the Palins in Alaska to try to dig up dirt of some kind. Having these SNL liberals doing spoofs on her just adds to her mystique and raises the level of liberal frustration that someone like her who is really a novice at politics, can cause the liberals such heartburn.

Bottom line: We live in a democracy and Obama is our President and Palin is a pundit.
