I am getting tired of this theme! We are very lucky to have Tony Gwynn and he will gradually get better at the things needed to make us a top notch program. His TV gig has so little to do with anything that I am surprised that it is ever brought up in any light but welcome publicity.

I will admit I am a little biased on Tony Gwynn, but here is my take.
I am not pleased that we are not consistently a Top 15 team yet and I think he still has a lot to learn.
But I think he brings a lot to the table in pub that this school could never get at this time.
I stay stick with him and he will become a good coach.

...and in the mean time we can all enjoy watching UNM with a 3rd year coach, who has posted 2 2nd place finishes in the MWC thus far, play Stanford today in their opening regional game.  |

This guy has had eight years. And eight years from now we will stillhear the same kiss ass excuses. UCSD, USD, Irvine< Fullerton and Long Beach are far superior to the Aztecs. It's not a matter of having quality players. It's about coaching and Tubby aint one.

Do you think Tony will get the Aztecs to the college world series before UCSD does? As for the "fun issue", how about winning! winning is lots of fun! |

True DShaw, but at the same time... -New Mexico is in the NCAA tourney and I see them getting very little nationwide pub. -Strasburg will start next Tuesday for the Nationals, and the Aztec baseball program and SDSU will get more pub with mentions of Strasburg, the school, and Tony Gwynn being the coach than New Mexico will if they made the NCAA baseball tourney 5 straight years. |
