Yeah, OK. Are you going to harp about how many people you meet in a week for the next 10 months then? Because that's how ridiculous you can be. I generally like you, but the constant harping on Long or who hates you is tiring. OK, as the new sheriff in town I feel I should interject here. This is the kind of thing that gets old real fast, and we want to make sure that everyone can enjoy discussing Aztec Sports and other related stuff. Look, we all know that Steve is a staunch Chuck Long defender. Very few of us share his view, but it is his view. Obviously it caused a lot of back and forth on the last couple of boards, and didn't really get anyone anywhere. Let's try to keep the personal shots against Steve to a minimum. And, Steve, let's try to keep the, "Everyone hates me," posts to a minimum as well. We all know that you get a lot of criticism, but some of it you do bring on yourself. I've engaged in these debates/arguments in the past, and will probably get sucked in again at some points. Let's just try to see if we can all keep our cool and focus on the topic that matters the most here. SDSU. Does that work for everyone? (FYI, I'm not trying to be an overbearing type of mod, I just want to let everyone know what I hope to see here over the coming months and - hopefully - years. Thanks.) Thats ok B5, but there is one problem with your comment.... The "shots" at me for making comments that I believe to be true with Chuck Long are in the 100's (maybe much more), and he is on topic as an ex coach at San Diego State. My comments that people "hate" me are at a number of 1. Why would I have to cut my comments of people "hating" me after the first post......and others that have taken shots at me on Chuck Long is in the 1,000's? Just a question I have to ask. |

Several years ago I was guilty myself of super drama but I learned my lesson real quick and now have little tolerance for it. I live in Mission Beach, leave my basement everyday, and interact with 100's of humans daily. Many in South Mission, the Roller Coaster, and North Mission know me on a first name basis. My psyche is fine and I probably have more contacts with people daily, than you do in a week. Yeah, OK. Are you going to harp about how many people you meet in a week for the next 10 months then? Who would start there name with =. You would think he would get a clue since he is the only one on the board that does that crap. In fact, next time I ride my beach cruiser down to MB, I'll ask around for the most popular guy in MB and I'll buy you a beer at the Coaster Saloon if I find you. Although my comment about getting out of the basement was general in nature, certainly your previous comments inspired it. Just like all the other pointless arguements you get in on the board, you can never leave well enough alone. Your preoccupation with being: 1) right and 2) being well liked, shows off an egocentric personality that makes it easy to troll. The problem is, lots of threads get derailed over pointless arguements (such as this) that you've clung on to well after others have quit caring. I probably shouldn't have made the comment in the first place, so I appologize for taking a cheap shot at you. I'm going to reinforce my commitment that I made to myself 2 boards back about "It doesn't cost anything to be nice". |

Don't argue with or comment on Steve's stuff. He goes off and it will never end!
Just accept, as a gift, the posts where he gives us some cogent, good information and facts on current issues relative to the Aztec Sports, and ignore the other horse $#!+ he comes up with about the past. Please! for the love of God... stop the madness!

I am not a staunch defender of Chuck Long. I am a defender of the theory that Chuck Long needed at least a 4th year to prove or not prove that he could turn this program around. As Steve and I have discussed via PM, I know nothing about Akbar's position on the matter but I heard from two people with significant inside info who to my knowledge don't know each other that Marshall told Schemmel exactly that. However, as I've also told Steve, Marshall reportedly did so only a few days before 70-7 so he certainly could have changed his mind. Maybe immediately. Why would Marshall think 2.5 years in that Chuck should be given four years? I know it only as hearsay about Marshall but I know it as fact about others whose opinion Weber and our ADs have valued that the team was such a mess when Chuck came in that none expected the Mike Price at UTEP-type immediate turnaround that many on this board thought should happen regardless of who was hired. (My opinion was if they had hired Erickson or Neuheisel that might have been possible because those guys would have insisted on bringing in a bunch of JC transfers immediately and they probably said as much when interviewed. However, as has been discussed before, Schlemiel apparently thought differently.) |
