I've signed it.
Hopefully this picks up some steam, gets into the media, with a VERY BRIGHT spotlight on ADLT and her decision to dictatorially ax the Aztec Warrior.
She should feel serious pressure and be made to feel embarrassed ... hopefully VERY embarrassed by her pathetic decision.
It's kinda mind boggling this hasn't happened already, But SD might be the softest, laziest sports reporting market in the country.

You mean like continually spouting the nonsense that this was strictly an ADLT decision, while omitting that there was a University Senate resolution passed a month prior? And full disclosure: I'm a Carlos/AW fan. |

Couldn’t agree more. So many other things to worry about with Aztec athletics. We should have a mascot and it should be kid friendly. Having a guy run around with his shirt off in the aisles and concourses isn’t inviting for most to take pics with and interact. Watch a Michigan state game and they have a cartoon spartan warrior “sparty” run around and interact with fans. He does halftime and between time out stunts and games. Not hard to reimagine that as an Aztec warrior. |

It was more fun to watch Carlos when he was younger and he used to run up the seats - not the aisles - tea bagging unwary fans along the way.

I've been calling for Quetzalcoatl for a while now. Seems like a no-brainer with "dragon" in the stadium name. Imagine a fire-breathing mouth that the players come out of pre-game. I've been to San Jose Sharks' games (back when they were good) and the Shark head entrance is pretty awesome. |

Just an opinion, but I think having a mascot similar to Sparty is more disrespectful than the live Warrior, which "disrespect" is one of the major reasons the Warrior is gone. But I hold more concern about the program more than I care about the Warrior coming back. Would rather have Wicker focusing his attention on that than the Warrior. |

Also, Carlos and the AWF are trying to find student to take over so Carlos can retire. |

The Fighting Quettzalcoatls? It's not a difficult subject. I know it's hard for you. So many universities do this. One of the most famous is the Miami Hurricanes. Their mascot is an ibis. They named him Sebastian but he is an awesome mascot that is very famous. Could name him Quetzi or some variation that is easy to say. Could also name him Cholula The most important center was Cholula, where the world's largest pyramid was dedicated to Quetzalcoatl-worship. In Aztec culture, depictions of Quetzalcoatl were fully anthropomorphic. Quetzalcoatl was associated with the wind-god Ehecatl and is often depicted with his insignia: a beak-like mask. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuetzalcōātlPut all those colors into the costume.
