Funny thing is we haven't seen excitement AND wins since the early 90's, Rocky did bring wins but he didn't bring the fans. Facts are facts people, we here at the AztecMesa are Aztecs Fans but the general population in San Diego are just fans wanting to be entertained. Yup, we won games with Rocky but not enough people cared. And I doubt that Rocky would have stayed much longer anyway. I'm hoping that if the PAC TV deal ever gets settled it may give us enough money to have a bit more flexibility. The history of hiring coaches at SDSU is abysmal. I don't know why we have done so poorly but we have. We had the same problem in basketball at one time. Getting Viejas (then Cox) built changed that.

Snapdragon has become the FB squads House of Horrors from day one. I can't help but think they displaced some ancient burial site. The only thing we haven't seen is the scoreboard becoming a portal for the ancient spirits.

Yep, and it led to Rocky's retirement as he hinted at in his closing press conference. Rocky retired? No, he quit. At the time, it was considered a retirement. Analogous to 'quitting' I suppose, if you want to call it that.

Hoke retired, Rocky went back to New Mexico as their DC for a few years, then was DC for Syracuse one year. He is currently a defensive analyst for Ft. Lewis College. That said, I loved Rocky as a head coach, winning is fun - no matter how you do it!

Wrong. They made one mistake, re-sodding with KBG. I doubt they will make that mistake again. Again, I play golf at Sycuan and they shut down Willow Glen for a month a couple of months ago to overseed with a winter rye and it didn't take. KBG is used on sports fields in colder climates. Now they have re-sodded with TifTuf which is a Bermuda hybrid that does better than regular Bermuda in the fall.

Yes, we won under him but did we ever make a NYD bowl game under Rocky. Are we satisfied playing in the Famous Potato Frisco and Hawaii Bowls?

The OL is at core of the problems on offense. It’s was patch work from the beginning and then injuries destroyed it. It’s not going to get any better this season either. Look forward to fixing it with the portal in the offseason.

Some folks put a premium on game excitement over wins. Oldie Out I believe we should be a minimum of 6-4 if we could have held the leads, or played better 4Q defense. 1. Central Michigan lost 22-21, CM kicks a FG last 5 seconds of the fourth quarter 2. Washington State, lost 29-26, Wazzu score 2 TDs in the fourth quarter 3. New Mexico, lost 21-16, Lobos score 1 TD in the fourth quarter

Just noticed that Kennesaw State had about 12 players opt out already.

Remember when we were pretty good, but people complained because Rocky was boring? Sports are a form of entertainment. Boring “entertainment” is a failure. If we are great and win enough, the style of play can be admired bc of the results. Coach Fisher coached low scoring and often boring defense focused teams, but won enough to make it part of the culture and fun. Rocky didn’t as we couldn’t win a meaningful bowl game. The running game with Penny and DJ was fun, but that was only a small portion of the experience. SDSU football hasn’t been an event to be at in some time. There’s a lot of people at fault for this. I blame the Athletic Department and Marketing Department The marketing department can always try to use a different shade of lipstick on the pig...that'll spice things up

I really feel like this team has the potential to climb up the rankings to #114th.
