I'm typically not a big Jay Bilas fan because he's such an ACC honk but he has 6 MWC teams in his top 68: 41 Boise State 47 Utah State 55 New Mexico 57 Nevada 59 Colorado State 60 SDSU "Jaedon LeDee is about as tough a loss as you can get for a squad like San Diego State -- he averaged 21.4 PPG and 8.4 RPG and became the Karl Malone Award winner as the nation's best power forward. Lamont Butler, Micah Parrish and Darrion Trammell also left the Aztecs this spring. If Reese Waters (9.6 PPG last year) and Miles Byrd (4.0 PPG) can take steps up from their play last year, SDSU has a good shot in the Mountain West, considering Brian Dutcher's track record and the transfers they have coming in."
That's a far cry but all the Bracket guys who only have Boise State in MM.

Boises loss isnsurprising. Early season games, especially with the portal, are pre-season games now. It takes more time for these kids to blend.
The MW is looking strong this year and I have no doubt we will get four to five squads in the Dance. UNLV fans are already predicting this is Krueger's last year.

Overall tough day for the MW. Boise was down virtually the whole game, USF didn’t look particularly special, I can’t imagine they’ll be a tourney team. UNLV was up the whole game and to lose at home in the last couple minutes is brutal. Unfortunately these games in November matter now more than ever. I don’t think we’ll see more than 2-3 MW teams in March Madness and could even see the committee going with 1-2 as punishment for last couple of years performance.
Not great for us that we play these teams at the end of season multiple times after they’ve gelled and we inevitably get their best shot. Gotta hope this conference starts picking up wins in non-con.

Although it's hard to swallow, New Mexico DID beat #22 ranked UCLA. The MWC just has to hope now what happened to ranked Ohio State when we beat them in Maui doesn't happen to UCLA. Ohio State was 3-0 when we beat them and ended up 16-19.

We’ll see how good they get. Nevada’s win over Washington on the other hand is a candidate to be like our OSU win. Danny Sprinkle’s teams looked ROUGH so far.

Yes, Wyoming hasn't played tough competition yet but it looks like they have a point guard in Obi Agbim who scored 24 and 25 points in the first 2 games, both wins. Agbim should win the Player of the Week honors for week 1.

UCSD crushing Pepperdine makes our win against them look a little bit better. They might be a good team this year, to where winning by 5 at home won't hurt us. But it also shows how far ahead our defense is vs. our offense right now - Pepperdine put up 76, UCSD put up 94.

Nevada hasn't hit the road yet, but they've had an impressive start to the season. Big game this week vs Vanderbilt.

1) With the additions of new players and those returning, Boise State is better than last year and earned being the conference favorite. Yet, ESPN has them before the Clemson win as the second group of four out of the NCAA tournament. 2) SDSU is the first team out while New Mexico was the only MWC team included in the Lunardi field of 68. I believe Boise State, New Mexico and SDSU all will end up making the NCAA tournament.
