I've read several times that it takes two years to get Lewis's AZTECFAST down. There was a big exodus last year & I expect the same this year. That said, whoever he gets in the transfer portal, probably more MAC players SMH, they will have to learn his system just like this year. It's an excuse to say the Offense will be better with his system when a lot of players will be new to it like this year. Even IF the RB'S come back, they never got any game day reps to get his system down, unless they just run up the middle all the time...
USU'S AGGIEFAST offense was way better at it than Lewis's FAST Offense. His AZTECFAST is just a gimmick and there are several other teams doing it with so much more success. Three plays and a cloud of "Sand" isn't exciting Offense and it just puts the Defense back on the field FAST. He also isn't going to get any top OL to come here, he had good 3 Star redshirt Freshmen leave the team this year. He got Linemen from small schools & JC'S to come in, except for BORJON.
If he's such an Offensive guru, why doesn't he utilize the TE more? Even when we had BELLINGER he was underused. Why isn't Wolfe & Harrison thrown to more? Mark REDMAN had 38 catches last year but left. Lewis's playbook seems to be Cooper up the middle and a bubble screen.

How can our leadership at SDSU, who seemingly desires to raise the University's status to the highest levels, allow its football program to display utter incompetence to the world? Are they blind to this show of Football Burlesque? Is there no shame? Really?

….allow its football program to display utter incompetence to the world? I think you mean nation, not world. We will never be known to the world. The world doesn’t know SDSU exists nor do they care. There’s only a handful of universities in this country that are known to the “world”. And it’s not sports that put those universities on that level.

Cuz Georgia's always on my, my,my mind.

We'll be the biggest media market in the conference and add to that, the biggest embarrassment.

If Lewis is still here after next year we will definitely go into that season as the doormat of the conference. If Lewis is able to be fired, there can be a lot of excitement around a new head coach going into the conference… But I just can't fathom how we can afford to fire him anymore after next season then we could after this season.

It's quite hilarious how many on this board think anybody outside of SD county gives a ratz-a$$ about SDSU athletics. SDSU should just drop football now... instead of a death-by-a-thousand-cuts bleed out. Basketball will probably follow in 5-10 years. We will never be invited to the adult table of college sports. COLLEGE SPORTS are dead for all but the elite (hint: we aren't elite). Time to focus 100% on academics!

My dad was a college professor and the dean of a graduate school and he didn't focus 100% on academics. He wasn't terribly good at other endeavors but he did try.

I'm just hoping the media deal for the NuPAC will give us a little more flexibility in hiring coaches. I'm hoping that might help. Our ineptitude regarding the hiring of coaches over the last 40 years has been stunning.

College Athletics has gone from bag men leaving cash for rent money in a meat freezer to coaches placing player pretty much on school payroll. This is unsucctainable even for the big programs. Give it five years and the whole system will come down hard. Im still waiting for all this money floating around to be taxed.

They are required to report the income on their tax returns and pay any tax due. Even the under the table payments of previous years were taxable income.

If next year is a repeat of this year, I don't see how we keep him for a 3rd year. I'd prefer to fire him right now though but I realize we probably can't afford it Question: how many on this group have received free tickets to games this year. It is the high tech version of fisher handing out Aztec basketball tickets to get some people into the stands. Email offers for free tickets to loyal supporters. Point is this pathetic attendance is deceiving. It is even worse than it appears. I enjoyed my free tickets, but even with free tickets the stands were quite empty. Note the games were bad enough that if they were hoping to get me to buy tickets then the performance of the team did not help their cause. So my questions are - how many of the tickets to the last game were free tickets? - are the sold tickets enough to pay the stadium lease? - how can we afford to not fire this coach? If the attendance requires ticket give always to partially fill the stadium and the paid attendance (not including the free tickets given away) continues to declin, this can get real ugly in terms of finances and optics. I had hope for Lewis, but I lost hope. His teams have history of being undisciplined (look at their penalty stats). Having a passion for football and talking fast does not make a good coach. He needs to instill discipline. He needs to obtain optimal performance from the players. He needs the offense and defense to play well as a team. He needs an attention to detail. How many of these has he been able to achieve?

Me, to the OSU game, and we got shut out in boring/embarrassing fashion, which led me to not want to go to another game this season (even if the ticket was free).
