Our #29, what a dumb a$$ punk. Barrels into the kicker like an idiot, full on roughing the kicker, then acts like he's a bad ass pushing the punter after destroying the last prayer we had to pull off a win. The dummy picks up two 15 yard penalties in one play!
Absolute metaphor for Lewis's program.
THAT shows everything you need to know about a Lewis coached Aztec team. The lack of discipline, mountain of mistakes in every phase, defense and offense taking turns disappearing. The amount of purely dumb mistakes is mind boggling.
They are really good at finding ways to lose.

If the penalties offset, how is it 1st down WSC? The personal fouls offset, the roughing the kicker did not. Probably should have been running into the kicker though |

I understand wanting to block the punt, but the odds of blocking the punch successfully are slim. It was much more likely to get that ruck in the kicker penalty. Statistically speaking the safest play was to play for a return.
I like the coach Lewis was aggressive, but it wasn't smart in this case.
We still did way better than we were supposed to then. And the team is looking a lot better than they did a few weeks ago.

aztecs didn't lose. game was stolen by crappy officials.. not an excuse----a fact Playing soft defense after being up two scores is a main reason they lost. Not the refs. |

Stupid plays cost the Aztecs this game. Allowing Mathers to be that wide open on the first WSU touchdown, the O'neill interception while in field goal range to try to get to 29 points and the following WSU touchdown to take the lead and successful 2-point after touchdown play on a botched play and the roughing the kicker penalty all contributed to this loss. Even the TV announcers said do not get a roughing the kicker penalty in the final minute. The chop block penalty on #2 was nonsense. Officials did not decide this game.

Agreed, but if we had a raucous crowd with a distinct home field advantage, I'd be shocked if that PI wasn't called. Sure hope that's the case someday. |

They are really good at finding ways to lose. Yes, and he tried to tackle him of all things. Ridiculous. So selfish, especially his attitude afterwards. We're one of the most, if not thee most, penalized team in the country for a reason. Lack of discipline. That falls on the coaching staff. I couldn't get over the bad tackling on Mateer. He was swatting people away with one hand, and then bulldozing over them. Unbelievable. |

One more is if one saw the play with around 7 minutes left in the Utah State-Wyoming game. The Utah State defender gave a forearm shot to the head of No. 6 on Wyoming causing him to leave this game, not return and there was no official review of that play and no penalty was called. While not targeting, it was a penalty for a blow to the head. Wyoming lost on a last-second field goal.

Just another game the Aztec LOST, they did not get beat they (the Aztecs) lost this game.
Getting old year after year, coach after coach.................. I will say Rocky rarely lost these types of game with stupid mistakes and penalties but then again Rocky would have never thrown the ball like they did tonight.

All the announcers have been telling us O’Neil is a tough guy. He gets hurt/dinged almost every game. Washington St. QB is legitimately a tough guy.
