Pac 12 refs won the game. Coach and play better. Then you won't have to blame the refs.

Almost 27,000 announced tonight, but how many THOUSANDS of WSU fans were there? A loud number…

Refs make bad calls all the time. Good teams overcome bad calls because they are coached well, and disciplined. Losing teams blame refs, commit too many penalties, miss assignments because they are not coached well.

All the announcers have been telling us O’Neil is a tough guy. He gets hurt/dinged almost every game. Washington St. QB is legitimately a tough guy. That dude's a baller.

I liked the effort the Aztecs exhibited last evening.....
Really tough loss as I thought all phases played well....
O'Neill just made one lousy throw.....It wasn't because he's a freshmen, or that he was banged up....
Hell, I've seen Patrick Mahomes make more " rookie mistakes " this year than in his previous 7 years....
The ascension of the program looks promising led by O'Neill and Lewis.
The greatest future challenge this Aztec program faces is keeping the key players here...

Tentatively agree but feel like he'll never have a well-rounded and deep offense if he continues his obsession with the one-back-and-one-back-only Cooper project. It's insane.

I was very happy with last night's game. I hated the ending/final result, but the game itself, and how the team played, was really good.
This was the first time all season that I saw an Aztec team that could challenge the best teams in the conference for a conference title. Certainly not this year, but as the program continues to develop under Coach Lewis.
The improvement of this team has been fairly dramatic. There is still room to grow, but the team is still growing, and that's a good thing.
The future looks a lot brighter today than it has on most Sundays this year.

Yeah fun game, frustrating 4th quarter but a 3 point loss to a top 25 team is sign of improvement and makes me optimistic. How this team finishes the season will be very telling sign of on Coach Lew's program.

The difference between the WSU and OSU/Cal games is stark, and OSU/Cal aren't very good this season.

I was impressed with what I saw last night. We seem to have two pretty decent QBs. The field though? It seemed a bit torn up, all the colors were very dull and every step led to sand flying up in a geyser. What's the deal with that? Oh, and people seemed to be slip, sliding away!

This team could be 5-2 if it just learned to put away their opponents
Better showing than I thought would happen Glad to see Cam Davis get carries. They played well considering the adversity they faced. Just not well enough to win because the game is 4 full quarters
I see why O'Neil was the starter out of camp. He's a lot better than Javance Tupou'ata-Johnson on the read on RPOs.
That's too bad because he was a legitimate threat as a runner and it added a new dimension this offense doesn't have with O'Neill

Not looking at the team's W-L record, I am impressed with the progress. Youngsters are getting valuable playing time now, learning on the job, making mistakes... but it will pay off in the future. The OL is decimated but will recover eventually with a new influx of quality transfers/recruits. At this stage, the youngsters and depth players will need to help lead the way.
Special Teams needs a ton of work, I observed. The kicking game/PAT team is shaky.
Oldie Out

Mix him more, please. I agree with on the O'Neill/Javance comparison. Javance is the better athlete, and can do it all. O'Neill is also very good with the better football IQ at this point in time. Javance is a pretty good back up to have.

Only one person not named Cooper had a carry on Saturday, Cam Davis. He gained 38 yards on that one carry and coach concluded he had seen enough and needed to stay with Cooper (who had 78 yards on 18 carries).

What continues to amaze me is that no one seems to ever question Lewis about this after games or even in columns or podcasts. Are they all just afraid or do they just not think it's very odd? Come on Kenney, grow a pair!
