Based on the quote in the article Reese Waters is a mature solid guy.
“Life is too short for me to worry about things that to other people would be good news,” Waters said. “Other people go into the doctor’s office where you have a Grade 3, while mine is just a Grade 1. Some people are dealing with a lot of other stuff in life other than injury, where at least I get to come back and play.
“It does suck, but it also brings me joy to watch everybody else have fun and compete.”
That's a great attitude to have in life.

Is this the same Reese Waters that kept disappearing last season whenever points were in short supply?

We went from deep at Guard to scarily thin. Losing 6'6"Waters and 6'3"Boyd is going to really hurt defensively. DAMN!!!!! A possible silver lining, BJ Davis (6'2" 175 lb, 4-star, No. 124 overall recruit in the nation, just a Sophomore)

I don't think we have had someone like that since Malachi.

That's the guy we want back.

That's the guy we want back. As he hit shot after shot after shot at the beginning of last year I couldn't believe how lucky we were to have gotten him from U$C. And that he seemed to be a really good and thoughtful person just made it all even better. I worry that with his on-going feet problems, he might not ever be that basketball guy again. But at least he's still that good and thoughtful person which in the long run will serve him much better in life than making a lot of shots.

Opportunity knocks...BJ is that you? The performance that BJ put up against UCLA is a small sample, but very good nonetheless. Yes, as a freshman, he had a bit of a deer in the headlights thing going on. But, it sounds like he put in the work in the offseason and just needed an opportunity to show the results. He was widely recruited out of HS on the west coast. Granted, Duke and Kentucky weren't after him, but he had a lot of offers. Quick feet and hands, and rebounds surprisingly well for a guy his size.

He also put 10 lbs on his frame which will help him when going inside the paint.

yes i agree this is great opportunity for PErez to play well and capitalize. we need more shooters. Not only more shooters but players who can shoot 3 pointers with a little more accuracy. Being ranked #296 in 3 point percentage last season was embarrassing for a major program as we are.

I think they are thinking of Ben Perez, who played for us 8 years ago, only played about 10 minutes a game before transferring to Iona. I think Ferrari deserves more minutes. He looks great in the game, strong (stronger then McKinney), good at driving and kicking the ball, and making 3's.

His shooting may be an asset in short stints, but his defense was sub-par in the UCSD game. First real game with the Aztecs though, things could improve over time. Dutch and staff will determine that.
