I know today Sacramento State isn't the sexiest option, but the school is growing like crazy, has money they are willing to spend, and most importantly has a very good football team. They desperately want out of the Big Sky, and in the Pac-12 and are pulling all the stops. www.on3.com/nil/news/sacramento-state-hornets-pac-12-committee-raises-35-million-nil-funds/They have a market of 4M people, get the conference a presence in Nor Cal, near an International Airport, and can join in all sports..... www.sacbee.com/sports/college/article293421894.htmlI don't think they should be the next school to add, but they might end up being who we have to add, if UNLV or Memphis keep being stubborn, and in the long run they might end up being very much worth it.....

They are probably the 7th or 8th best option, if I had to rank them, and am realistic about who our options are.
1. Cal miraculously comes back 2. Memphis 3. Tulane 4. UNLV 5. UTSA 6. Air Force 7. Hawaii 8. Sacramento State
I would take them over the MW schools not on the list above.

I will say that if they ended up getting the PAC invite, Sac State would be constructing one of the nicest football stadiums in the conference (with shade canopies) and would be playing their basketball games in the nicest arena in the conference (G1C where the Kings play).

The new stadium will be great and the G1C and DOCO in general are great… Their athletic budget is $18m… let that sink in… they have a bunch of interest and a fantastic market which really supports local… but they need infrastructure… they are five years behind Texas State, for example… Having said that… There are only five schools ahead of them for me…. But I am a risk taker 1. Memphis 2. USF 3. Tulane 4. UTSA 5. Texas State

However I'd swap Air Force and Hawaii because I hate the thought of us playing at high elevation any more than absolutely necessary.

Sac States first stop needs to be the MW. It's going to take time to ramp up the Scholarships, Coaching Staffs, Admin, facilities etc, to support FBS Sports. Even at the lowest level.
It's nice they are aiming high, but the Pac should not be call up League.

This is kinda like us asking/begging to be in the Big 10 or SEC right? We want to be at the ultimate big boy table but are not an option. I bet Sac St would give their left and right nut to be in the Pac the same way we would do the same to be in one of these 2 conferences.

Speaking of which, San Jose State would be much better than Sac State... Oposite directions… in 5 to 10 years we will be asking what happened to SJSU and CSUS will be above them… sad but true

Oposite directions… in 5 to 10 years we will be asking what happened to SJSU and CSUS will be above them… sad but true Sac State is going nowhere. All these plans will fade to dust when they aren’t invited to the MW. It’s sad because they should have a basketball arena and football stadium just t to compete in FCS.

Their basketball facility holds 1,000 people. That's pathetic! They need to invest first and then ask to move up later in my opinion. They want to put the cart in front of the horse.
