Sac State is going nowhere. All these plans will fade to dust when they aren’t invited to the MW. It’s sad because they should have a basketball arena and football stadium just t to compete in FCS. Their basketball facility holds 1,000 people. That's pathetic! They need to invest first and then ask to move up later in my opinion. They want to put the cart in front of the horse. Worse, they’ll promise the investment and then never deliver. |

I am intrigued with how much money they have available to grow. If they could come on as a probationary member that has to meet certain milestones and has little to no media distribution (like SMU) for a number of years while not hurting the total media rights contract then I could see them getting an evaluation.
However, with the PAC trying to rebuild and give the perception of strength I don't think this is the time to add an FCS team.

I will say that if they ended up getting the PAC invite, Sac State would be constructing one of the nicest football stadiums in the conference (with shade canopies) and would be playing their basketball games in the nicest arena in the conference (G1C where the Kings play). The new stadium will be great and the G1C and DOCO in general are great… Their athletic budget is $18m… let that sink in… they have a bunch of interest and a fantastic market which really supports local… but they need infrastructure… they are five years behind Texas State, for example… Having said that… There are only five schools ahead of them for me…. But I am a risk taker 1. Memphis 2. USF 3. Tulane 4. UTSA 5. Texas State Our deal with the PAC is just 5 years. If we end up with SAC St then I will be VERY angry. And you won't like me when I'm angry.  |

I say YES to Sacramento State... on one 'teeny-tiny' condition:
All the money they NEED to invest in a new stadium and arena... goes straight to the PAC 8 to be divided up amongst everyone.
Oh, and basketball still has to be played at The G1C.
