True. Everyone is looking bad at Coach Lewis right now because SDSU is 1-2. If the Aztecs are 3-0 right now, nobody gives a rip who decides to transfer out. It's how they're losing too If they were 1-2 and not trying to set penalty records, or even had an offensive pulse vs an FBS opponent, the tone would be massively different. I expected the Aztecs to be 1-2 at this juncture. I expected the growing pains to be on defense with progress on offense since that is the thing Lewis hangs his hat on I was kinda the opposite, as far as the offense goes. I was expecting the offense to struggle for a while, with a completely different and massively sped up scheme, with freshman QB's, and with new personnel all over. The defense has been a pleasant surprise for me so far, especially with all the new personnel. Their only struggles have been at the end of the two "P5 games" when they were understandably tiring from being on the field so much. The offense needs to help the D out with more sustained drives. I much prefer this defense so far to Mattix' defense last year and the year before. Both tackling-wise and scheme-wise.

I was too - but I was not expecting the O to look exactly like the UNR game last year and be shut out again at home vs. OSU. That was just demoralizing, depressing and made me not want to go to games anymore. I don't think expecting more points than the Wave scores in a given weekend at The Snapper is too much to ask for?

Take heart in the fact OSU is far superior to that Nevada team. Also, we would have at least scored 7 if not for the goal line fumble.

Lewis playing his guys Shaw ain't banged up since he's catching punts It's not like the offense could use an experienced WR with good hands who runs polished routes. If Shaw is healthy he should be out there. That guy is a safety blanket for a QB. Runs great routes, knows how to get open, really good after the catch (yac) and has really good hands. I'm pissed if he's sitting him only because he wants to play his guys that he maybe irresponsibly promised the moon to. You need to let everybody know you still have to earn your position. After seeing these receivers, there's no way Shaw should be riding the bench if he's healthy, and he seems to be. On the surface sure seems like Lewis is playing his guys but I'm not watching the practices. I will state Shaw has developed into a solid receiver and he should see more playing time. Unfortunately, with the quirky style of hurry up offense there's little opportunity for rotation and substitution of players. And we've all seen the results on the field---a sales pitch by Lewis with below average results so far

No wonder why a ton of players left when he was hired They know Lewis will play his guys first. Brooks was one of the better WRs on the team. Hope he catches on far away from San Diego State so he doesn't pay us back. Do you know what's going on with Mekhi Shaw? The guy's a gamer with good hands. Shaw had a broken hand and then a pulled hamstring. He is back fielding punts but I understand is not 100%. I imagine he will be for our next game vs CM.

You mean that OSU defense that just gave up 50 to Oregon in Corvallis? This is particularly disappointing. As they showed last weekend, OSU isn't a great team, yet SDSU is even worse. Makes it feel pointless to go to games expecting to see anything besides another craptastic performance. at this point We've been experiencing that for awhile now. And it's not the least bit motivational as far as going to games - or staying on the season ticket train. At this point, the only thing that seems the least bit promising is that they're leaving the MWC - but that won't happen for another two years…

After hearing about the kids at UNLV wanting to redshirt, I wonder if our guys were pushing to redshirt for the same reasons. If so, I can understand coach Lew taking a hard stance on the subject.

Oct 30 first game (CSUSM), then UCSD, Oxy, and Zags in short order.

Sophomore Logan TANNER, who has been injured and was 4th on the TE depth chart has been removed from the roster. Senior defensive lineman, Wyatt DRAEGER has also left the team.

Correct, and to fill the void with the theory that Lewis is not playing who he thinks are the best players at the expense of the team and program is ridiculous. Personally love what i saw with Baylin Brooks and wish he was playing more. But if you are not the new coaches recruit, it's not wise to request a redshirt year 3 games into a 1-2 start. What do you guys think Rocky would've done if a player on his defense requested a redshirt and wasn't hurt? IMHO the Coaching Staff effed up on this one. To me, when someone requests a red shirt, a it shows he is committed to this program. He realizes he can't contribute this year. So, he requests an extra year to focus on S&C. Learn the new playbook. Come back next year better prepared to contribute to the Team. Yet, the Coaching Staff throws two kids with that kind of commitment under the bus. Wowza !

Shaw got two more weeks of rest and basically just did punt returns again. SMH... If he isn't healthy, discuss in the press release. Coach, you are losing fan support.

Coach, you are losing fan support. Yes, he's a great possession receiver. Very reliable. Runs really good routes. Absolutely should be getting play time. Brown can make the big catch, but he drops some easy, important ones as well. Shaw won't do that, usually.

I feel like the kids requesting red shirts are planning on leaving and want to keep a full year or eligibility to take with them.
