It's crazy how much I've soured on Sean Lewis in three weeks. Winning cures everything, so hopefully we start winning.

True. Everyone is looking bad at Coach Lewis right now because SDSU is 1-2. If the Aztecs are 3-0 right now, nobody gives a rip who decides to transfer out. Correct, and to fill the void with the theory that Lewis is not playing who he thinks are the best players at the expense of the team and program is ridiculous. Personally love what i saw with Baylin Brooks and wish he was playing more. But if you are not the new coaches recruit, it's not wise to request a redshirt year 3 games into a 1-2 start. What do you guys think Rocky would've done if a player on his defense requested a redshirt and wasn't hurt?

We are really only hearing one side of this story. True. Everyone is looking bad at Coach Lewis right now because SDSU is 1-2. If the Aztecs are 3-0 right now, nobody gives a rip who decides to transfer out. 100% We beat who we were supposed to beat and lost to 2 teams we were supposed to lose to. San Diego fans at their best! No butts in the seats and no eyeballs on TV... and already turning on the new staff. Sometimes I feel like we deserve to be relegated to the Big West or lower.

C'mon man. It's not that we lost. It's the way we lost. You, me and everyone knows that watching this team play for 10 of the 12 quarters has been absolute nightmare fuel. And I went into this season thinking Sean Lewis was going to be so great we'd be lucky to have him for 3 seasons before he leaves for greener pastures. But 3 games in, you can't say that our offense has looked like anything but absolute dog$#!+.

Louis Brown IV and Jordan Napier should get every snap IMHO...

Is Coach Lewis trying to follow the Deion Sanders model, bring in your own guys and kick everyone else to the curb? I hope not, I think Deion is an overrated tool. Of course, winning solves everything, as others have noted.

Ya so Napier can drop every 2 out of 3 passes. I am getting a bac feeling about this coaching staff. Hope I am wrong.

We are really only hearing one side of this story. Yeah, but Lewis is a nincompoop so we only need to hear one side of the story.

I was at a poker game when I heard that Lewis only recruited Duffy so he could sit on the bench. Lewis loves to smash kids' dreams.

From the 2 player’s perspective, if they want to save a year of eligibility, can they still only play 4 games? They are at 3, the decision was coming soon

Lewis playing his guys Shaw ain't banged up since he's catching punts It's not like the offense could use an experienced WR with good hands who runs polished routes. If Shaw is healthy he should be out there. That guy is a safety blanket for a QB. Runs great routes, knows how to get open, really good after the catch (yac) and has really good hands. I'm pissed if he's sitting him only because he wants to play his guys that he maybe irresponsibly promised the moon to. You need to let everybody know you still have to earn your position. After seeing these receivers, there's no way Shaw should be riding the bench if he's healthy, and he seems to be. Maybe Lewis prefers WRs who average 2 drops per game

It’s clear that Brooks who I liked was complaining about playing time and wanted to redshirt so he could transfer and have 3 years left of eligibility. I know he stated that he never thought of transferring until they said it but that was the reason. At this point we have to trust that Lewis is starting and playing the players he thinks gives him the best chance to win. In the 50+ snaps and 20+ snaps he got in the first two games he was not productive. That most likely is the fault of a true freshman and RS freshman QB’s who couldn’t get him the ball but nonetheless he wasn’t wide open as far as I could see.
Today’s athletes do not want to work and if they get beat out they just want to transfer. With the portal this seems now to be a normal thing around the 4 game mark due to the redshirt rules for football. This happened last year too.
Again I liked Brooks but we can’t change head coaches every 3 games. Let’s give Lewis the time he needs. If we are the same spot 2 years from now we can sack him then.

so now that the 2 guys have left the team or whatever it could be called after 3 games -
does this season not count against them for eligibility ?

If the Aztecs are 3-0 right now, nobody gives a rip who decides to transfer out. This is true, and a no brainer, but the fact is there are some head scratcher decisions he's made. Do you know why Shaw isn't getting more reps at the WR position? Do you know why Lewis didn't sit Cooper after flipping off the other team for all to see? Many other questions, as well.

I'm trying to be as ojective as I can. Maybe Brooks lacks speed to get open and/or runs bad routes, despite having good hands. I don't know anything about Walker. On the other hand why did Lewis wait so long? He should have known neither guy has IT to be on the field.

If the Aztecs are 3-0 right now, nobody gives a rip who decides to transfer out. It's how they're losing too If they were 1-2 and not trying to set penalty records, or even had an offensive pulse vs an FBS opponent, the tone would be massively different. I expected the Aztecs to be 1-2 at this juncture. I expected the growing pains to be on defense with progress on offense since that is the thing Lewis hangs his hat on

I've never heard of a player asking to redshirt who was not injured. Granted there are many sides to the story and I may be off base here, but he quit on the team - basically said he doesn't want to play anymore with the team for no reason other than to save a year of eligibility. It's pretty apparent he was going to transfer after the season anyway so why would the staff expend energy and give reps to a guy who was highly likely to transfer. I thought he was a good, promising young player so I'm not happy with the outcome but it's now the world that college football lives in.
