If we play dumb, we might beat Hawaii. If brain power magically increases, we have a chance to go 3-0.
We have a bye week next weekend, which gives everyone -- coaches and players included -- to get their heads on straight. If that's successful, then we have a chance to be a pretty decent team in what's appearing to be a down year for the league. Assuming we stop with all the penalties, I can see us going 5-4 the rest of the way, finishing with a 6-6 regular season and possible bowl game.

A lot of the penalties are because we were playing better athletes. The holding penalties are occurring because the linemen are out of position and are grabbing and holding because they are getting beat athletically. The athletic ability of our opponents is going to drop drastically in the next 3 games. Our next 3 opponents are closer athletically to Texas A&M Commerce than Cal.

I'll buy.
I watched through 3 1/2 quarters and it was far better than anything I saw against Oregon State. Even the dumbsh*t middle finger penalty at least told me they had a pulse. The QB, as raw as he was, showed flair and play-making ability (though he's not gonna last long if he doesn't get protection). The rest comes with experience for everybody involved.
But, sure... 3-0.

Couple things that I saw that were positive in this game. Our red shirt freshman QB has some arm talent. He was able to make throws from different platforms and be pretty accurate. The defense is growing and showing some talent considering all the defections from that side of the ball. Some real growth in some freshman receivers. The penalties are a real head scratcher. There were so many penalties in the first half on both teams it was hard to watch the game. There were so many tic tac penalties in that first half that it appeared the refs were trying to be the show. How you go from so many in the first half to hardly any in the second half make you wonder if someone had a talk with the refs at halftime. This is a good time for a bye week for this young team.

With obviously flawed coaching, and the resulting unpredictable player performance, it's hard to see 3 consecutive wins against anyone.

The guy had on a white shirt not a player or coach probably an equipment manager. Should have been a penalty on the Cal bench also.

Every single coach from Pop Warner to the NFL preaches, "Don't respond because they always catch the second guy" What happened is exactly why you never retaliate like that

I could easily see 3 wins
However, if any of those teams plays a good game and the Aztecs continue to play football with their heads up their rectums, they could lose any of those games. So they could also go 0-3.

Cutdown on penalties and it is possible. Defense is playing very well till they run out of gas, Cooper has looked very good but has rarely gotten space. Given our next opponents i expect him to get more space. But again, need to cutdown the penalties

They are playing well enough for us to win if thew offense can get better.

I could just as easy see 3 more losses. Well, if that happens, there's gonna be a mass exodus of season ticket holders next year. The ones that are left will be competing with each other on ticket resale sites. The WM game should be a gimme. The other two, not so much. Hawaii, especially - they aren't going to roll over. And Wyo - at 7220 ft for unconditioned players - will be a reach as well regardless of how well the 'pokes are doing by then. Winning record starts with the next game they play. And then it should get interesting after that.

SDSU/COOPER isn't the Miami Hurricanes of the late 80's and early 90's that could talk the talk by winning multiple Championships and have players like Ray Lewis who would destroy ones confidence by his play and his smack. Senior Cooper and all of his 5'-6"/5'-7" self got baited and should have walked back to the huddle. Coach LEWIS needs to play Lucky SUTTON more.
