I’ve never been to a road game at Laramie as honestly had no desire to go however I don’t think we’ll be in the same conference with Wyoming in two years so I’m considering going to the road game there in October 12 this year. I understand that War Memorial Stadium is a gorgeous setting and would like to see it before we possibly don’t ever play them again. And maybe do some fly fishing while up there as well.
How does one get there from SD?

Fly into Denver and then either rent a car and take the 2 hour drive north. Or, from Denver, take a small puddle jumper to the Laramie airport.

If feasible, take a week off and drive there! That's early enough in the year where you won't be needing snow chains, and you should see some nice fall foliage on the way there and back.

Drive from Denver Don't take a Buddy Holly plane Bigger planes than that land there. United flies their 50 seater out of there daily. You can catch that connection in Denver. Our much larger football charter flies into there.

You can fly into Denver and stay there, but I would suggest that you drive the approx one hour into Greeley and stay the night there. The hotel and motel prices are very much less than in Denver and Greeley is a much nicer place (I lived there for about four years and that's how I know; commuted often to Denver and in the winter that is not a pleasant drive). While in Greeley I went to Aztec games at CSU, Air Force, and Laramie. Laramie is not the horrid place folks on here make it out to be. They were some of the most friendly fans I have ever met - my family and I wore our Aztec gear everywhere and the Wyo fans would come up and talk to us. We had a really great time there.

Fly into Laradise. Rent a car. Don't fly to Denver and rent a car - no one needs that nuisance of driving up there from DIA. Your life will be much better, and safer, flying into Laramie than driving.

Fly into Laradise. Rent a car. Don't fly to Denver and rent a car - no one needs that nuisance of driving up there from DIA. Your life will be much better, and safer, flying into Laramie than driving. Good advice -- especially since Hwy 287 from Ft. Collins to Laramie consistently ranks as one of the most dangerous stretches of paved road in the U.S. Here's a fun tidbit: #1 US 287
While some may consider Interstate 80 to be far deadlier, US Highway 87 tops our list. Mile per mile, there is no more dangerous road in all of Wyoming than US 287. Considering that US 287 has seen 1 deadly car crash for every 2 miles during the last decade, it’s no wonder many in Wyoming consider the road to be a death trap. Not only must drivers face treacherous climbs through high mountains, both Medicine Bow and Laramie, but also abrupt winter storms, steep hillsides, reckless drivers, and wildlife crossings. What makes US 287 especially dangerous, though, is the how remote large parts of the highway are from major urban centers. Often it is too tempting to just gun the engine when you’re way out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the sky and open road ahead of you. Sadly, speed kills regardless of how many other cars are on the road. And, since much of US 287 is two lanes, there is little room to escape or maneuver if anything goes wrong. There are efforts to expand US 287 to four lanes, but this might prove impossible in some areas due to the tough mountain terrain. In the meantime, US 287 remains the most dangerous road in all of Wyoming. Drivers beware.

Fly to DIA. Drive to Fort Collins and get a hotel there. Then drive from FC to Laromie for the game. Thats how I used to do it back in the 80s & 90s when I still traveled for WAC/MWC games. We've been playing these same schools for soooo long. Sigh.... Warning, dbl check on FC. I hear it isn't quite as charming as it used to be. I’ve never been to a road game at Laramie as honestly had no desire to go however I don’t think we’ll be in the same conference with Wyoming in two years so I’m considering going to the road game there in October 12 this year.
